Semi-passive transponder
A semi-passive acoustic transponder providing identity information related to the transponder when it is reflecting a received pulsed acoustic signal underwater. The transponder includes a memory unit holding ID-sequence data controlling operation of the switching device, and an electronic circuit includes frequency adjusting means for adjusting the frequency and duration of the switch such that the duration of the ID-sequence data is shorter than the duration of pulses of the received acoustic signal. Additionally, a method and system may provide position and identity information related to one or more of said semi-passive acoustic transponders.

Active echo fishing lure
An underwater imaging system is disclosed. A boat sonar transducer is configured to transmit and receive sonar signals and generate an image of water and surfaces using received sonar signals. An active echo system is configured to be positioned within the water to remotely communicate with the boat sonar transducer. The active echo system includes an ultrasound transducer configured to detect sonar signals transmitted by the boat sonar transducer and transmit an active echo pulse, or a series of active echo pulses, back to the boat sonar transducer. A microprocessor is configured to drive the ultrasound transducer to transmit the active echo pulse, or series of active echo pulses, back to the boat sonar transducer in response to the ultrasound transducer detecting sonar signals transmitted by the boat sonar transducer.

Positioning Device, Communications System and Method
A device can determine its position in a communications system. A scalable solution permits multiple devices to be used in one area without detrimental effect on the accuracy or latency of the position determining. The communications system includes a first base station arranged to transmit a first signal to a second base station arranged receive the first signal and transmit a second signal to the first base station in response The first base station is arranged to receive the second signal and transmit a third signal to the second base station in response to the second signal. delay time measuring unit, round trip time measuring unit, a base station timings unit and a calculating unit are used to calculate a first time difference of arrival based on a first round trip time, first delay time, second round trip time and a second delay time.
Systems and methods for locating humans using dynamic field robotic-sensor network of human robot team
A system including at least three robots. Each robot including a proximity sensor unit and an imaging device. At least one robot including a processor to perform a method of estimating a pose of a human, the method including obtaining a first pose estimate for the human, the first pose estimate based on proximity sensor information, obtaining a second pose estimate for the human, the second pose estimate based on imaging device information, and generating a refined pose estimate for the human by fusing the first pose estimate with the second pose estimate, where the first pose information provides predictive values and the second pose estimate provides correction values. The method including applying a deep neural network (DNN) human model, and applying a DNN human pose model. A method to generate a refined pose estimation for a human and a non-transitory computer readable medium are also disclosed.

Passive Solar Identification System for Underwater Lift Bags and Flags
The invention is a system that enables passive sonar identification of underwater items by making use of lift bags and/or flags, having distinctive sequences of bands of sonar-signal-reflecting materials, wherein the lift items are partially inflated so as to present a predictable orientation with respect to the floor of a body of water and its surface.
DETECTING TRANSPORTATION COMPANY TRIPS IN A VEHICLE BASED UPON ON-BOARD AUDIO SIGNALS
The systems and methods may transmit a plurality of locationing pulse requests from a mobile device in a vehicle to an audio system of the vehicle during a period of operation of the vehicle. The audio system may have an array of speakers disposed inside the vehicle, and the locationing pulse requests may include a request to emit a locationing pulse from the array of speakers. The systems and methods may further receive the locationing pulse at a microphone of the mobile device; and determine, based upon receiving the locationing pulse, that the vehicle was in service of a TNC company, or otherwise operating as a TNC vehicle, during the period of operation based upon passengers entering and leaving the vehicle during the period of operation. Insurance covering the operation of the vehicle for TNC use may be verified, and/or alternatively, offered to facilitate insuring TNC vehicle operation.
