OPPORTUNISTIC SONAR MONITORING OF VITAL SIGNS
Various arrangements for sonar-based vital sign monitoring are presented herein. A mobile device may be determined to be stationary. In response, sonar-based movement sensing can be activated. Sonar data can then be captured in response to activating the sonar-based movement sensing. A breathing pattern can be detected in the sonar data and used to collect respiration data about a user.
APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR INDICATING A POSITION OF VALVE OF WELLSITE EQUIPMENT
Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to an apparatus, a system, and a method for detecting and indicating the operational position of a valve of wellsite equipment. The apparatus comprises a mount portion and a housing portion. The mount is operatively coupled to a non-moving part of the valve and the housing portion is configured to receive a sensor therewithin. The sensor is configured to detect the position of a moving part of the valve and to provide an output signal indicative of the position of the moving part of the valve. The position of the moving part of the valve is indicative of the operational position of the valve. The system comprises one or more such apparatus for detecting and indicating the operational position of one or more valves on a wellsite or well pad.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS TO DETECT VEHICLE THEFT EVENTS
In an exemplary embodiment, a system is provided that includes a sensor, a computer memory, and a processor. The sensor is configured to be disposed on a vehicle, and is configured to obtain sound or vibration data for the vehicle. The computer memory is configured to store a plurality of known signatures pertaining to a plurality of different types of vehicle theft events. The processor is configured to: compare a signature of the data with the plurality of known signatures stored in the computer memory; and determine whether a vehicle theft event is occurring based on the comparing of the signature of the data with the plurality of known signatures.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TRUCK UNLOADING BY SENSING PRESENCE OR ABSENCE OF PALLET
An automatic truck unloading apparatus and method are provided. The automatic truck unloading apparatus generates sensing information regarding the presence or absence of a pallet on the truck by implementing sensors installed in a region of a truck and a region of a storage area, and sets optimal transport paths for multiple unmanned forklift vehicles based on the sensing information, and unloads a pallet from the truck and moves and stores the pallet in the storage area by implementing an unmanned forklift vehicle.
Device and method for measuring the level of liquid in a container
The invention relates to a filling level measuring device for measuring the filling level in a container through the wall thereof by means of ultrasound, having an ultrasonic measuring head, a controller, and a fastening device by means of which the filling level measuring device can be fastened to the container such that the ultrasonic measuring head is pressed against the wall of the container. The invention further relates to a method of operating such a filling level measuring device, wherein a sampling rate is used which is situation-dependent. The invention finally relates to an assembly made up of such a filling level measuring device and at least one spacer which can be attached to the lower edge of a container to be provided with the filling level measuring device.
Parking assistant and method for adaptive parking of a vehicle to optimize overall sensing coverage of a traffic environment
A method can be used for adaptive parking of a vehicle. A parking area is determined around a programmed destination of the vehicle. The parking area has more than one available parking spot for the vehicle. Parking data is acquired via a wireless communication network. The parking data for each parked vehicle includes a parking position and an individual sensing coverage of an environment sensor system of the respective parked vehicle scanning the traffic environment within the parking area. Available parking spots are ranked based on a calculated overall sensing coverage and a recommended parking spot is determined among the available parking spots based on overall sensing coverage of the traffic environment in the parking area.
METHOD FOR ESTIMATING AN EFFECTIVE LENGTH OF A FIRST VEHICLE SEGMENT OF A VEHICLE COMBINATION
A method for estimating an effective length of a first vehicle segment of a vehicle combination, the vehicle combination comprising a towing vehicle which is connected to the first vehicle segment via a first articulation joint and a perception sensor mounted on one of the towing vehicle and the first vehicle segment and arranged to obtain an image of the other one of the towing vehicle and the first vehicle segment; the method comprising identifying that the vehicle combination is provided in a first steady vehicle state, identifying that a turning and driving manoeuvre is initiated, identifying when the vehicle combination reaches a second steady vehicle state, determining a time period required for driving the vehicle combination from the first steady vehicle state to the second steady vehicle state, and estimating the effective length by use of the time period, the specific angular change, and the specific speed.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MONITORING A SWITCH CABINET DOOR
An I/O system component for a switch and control cabinet for components and/or functional units of an I/O network, including: a housing with a front, a top, a bottom, at least one side face, and a sensor window; at least one ultrasonic sensor for detecting at least one physical quantity, the at least one ultrasonic sensor being arranged behind the sensor window; and at least one printed circuit board, the at least one ultrasonic sensor being connected to the printed circuit board so as to carry data.
Self-adaptive ultra-sonic touch sensor
A method of configuring a touch sensor includes transmitting an ultra-sonic test signal induced by a first excitation signal towards a touch structure that has a first interface with an enclosed interior volume of the touch sensor and a second interface with an external environment; receiving a plurality of ultra-sonic reflected signals produced from the ultra-sonic test signal and the touch structure, including a first ultra-sonic reflected signal internally reflected by the first interface and a last ultra-sonic reflected signal internally reflected by the second interface; determining a last time of flight corresponding to the last ultra-sonic reflected signal; and selectively configuring a second excitation signal based on the last time of flight. The second excitation signal is used for inducing further ultra-sonic signals.
