HOODS, RESPIRATOR HOODS, AND OTHER ARTICLES INCLUDING JOINED THERMOPLASTICS AND ELASTOMERS, AND RELATED METHODS
A hood is provided that includes a collar and a head covering. The collar includes at least one elastomeric layer configured to be sealingly fit around a body part of a wearer. The elastomeric layer includes perforations. The head covering includes at least one thermoplastic layer configured to receive a head of the wearer and terminating at an edge portion defining an opening configured for insertion of the head of the wearer. The head covering further includes integral connections extending through the perforations of the elastomeric layer to sealingly engage the head covering to the collar. Also provided are containment assemblies and methods of making and using the same.
PERSONAL AIR FILTRATION APPARATUS AND METHOD
A wearable air filtration apparatus configured to fit beneath a full-face helmet is disclosed. The apparatus includes a front plate including an output aperture and at least one input aperture, the input and output apertures arranged to be substantially front facing when the apparatus is worn by a user. An air filter is arranged behind the front plate and positioned to filter air moving from in front of the apparatus toward the face of a user wearing the apparatus. A valve plate is located behind the filter, the valve plate including an output check valve in fluid communication with the output aperture and at least one input check valve in fluid communication with the at least one input aperture.
Helmet mounted protective shroud
A helmet mounted protective shroud apparatus for use with respirators includes a shroud mating component adapted to surround a respirator and a shroud component connected to the shroud mating component. The shroud component includes a fabric component having an edge, a plurality of connection mechanisms connected to the fabric component, and a flap component configured to cover a top of the fabric component, wherein the shroud component is adapted to cover a helmet and surround a wearer's head and neck. The present invention allows a chemical-biological protective hood/shroud assembly to be integrated for use with a helmet and respirator.
BALLISTIC HELMET
A ballistic helmet comprising a ballistic shell, wherein within the thickness of the ballistic shell, or inside the ballistic shell, there is provided one or more circuit layers forming a circuit, which circuit comprises a power bus and a data bus, and wherein one or more power connections and one or more data connections are provided on the inside and/or on an edge of the ballistic shell for providing power and data to/from one or more electrical devices through the circuit.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR HEAD PROTECTION AND PROVIDING AIR FLOW
Provided is a head protection device with multiple face shields, where the head protection device is configured to be able to provide a flow of air to a user of the head protection device. The air flow may be provided by an external air providing device.
Protective face covering
An apparatus which may be used to protect a user's mouth, nose, chin, ears, and jaw from projectiles, direct impacts, air contaminants, and reduce concussive impact to the ears. Before air flowing into the apparatus is filtered by a filter member upstream of a mouthpiece, the air flow first passes through a plurality of conduits in a nose and protection member, where the nose and chin protection member is fabricated from an impact resistant material. Each of the conduits has a deflection member which changes the direction of the air flow. The user's exhalations do not flow back through the filter member but are rather redirected through side ports in the mouth piece.
Connector for in-ear systems
Disclosed is a connector for providing audio signals. The connector can include an audio signal and power cable having a first end and a second end, and an interface communication connector disposed at least proximate to the first end. Further, the connector can include a ground, power, and audio signal connector disposed at least proximate to the second end, wherein the ground, power, and audio signal connector is configured to accept a plurality of different audio signal and power cables from different noise-protection devices having differing pin configurations. Further still, the connector can include at least a first audio input signal cable in contact with the audio signal and power cable, wherein the audio input signal cable is configured for transmitting one or more of the audio signals through the interface communication connector to at least one of a vehicle and an extra-vehicular source.
Snow burial survival mask
A snow burial survival mask has an exhaust tube connected to a headgear. An intake port of the exhaust tube is positioned adjacent to a breathing portion of the headgear in order to intake exhaled carbon dioxide (CO2)-rich air. An air pump connected to the exhaust tube pump the exhaled air from the intake port to an exhaust port away from the user's face, extending survival time in a snow burial situation. At least one burial detection sensor such as a motion sensor, light sensor and/or CO2 sensor is configured to activate the air pump based on detection of a burial event.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT FOR CBRN OR OTHER PROTECTION
A method of manufacturing an article of personal protective equipment, such as a protective glove, headgear, footwear, suit, or other protective device, wearable by a wearer for protecting the wearer against noxious agents, such as an article of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) personal protective equipment. The article of personal protective equipment may comprise a plurality of regions that cover different parts of the wearer's body and have different properties, such as different levels of protection against noxious agents, breath ability, heat loss capability, dexterity, tactility, stretchability, and/or another function.
Protective helmet with coupling elements
A protective helmet, in particular a firefighting helmet, has a helmet shell and coupling arrangements which are arranged on either side in a temple region in each case and have first coupling elements for coupling in a releasable manner in each case to an accessory. The first coupling elements are retained on the helmet shell via a retainer of a connecting device in different positions one behind the other along a longitudinal axis of an adjustment path. Each of the first coupling elements has arranged thereon a first coupling member which is arranged in a first laterally offset position in relation to the retainer, which is arranged along the longitudinal axis of the adjustment path. Also, safety equipment includes such a protective helmet and at least one accessory coupled thereto.
