Protective Face Covering
20180070668 · 2018-03-15 ·

An apparatus which may be used to protect a user's mouth, nose, chin, ears, and jaw from projectiles, direct impacts, air contaminants, and reduce concussive impact to the ears. Before air flowing into the apparatus is filtered by a filter member upstream of a mouthpiece, the air flow first passes through a plurality of conduits in a nose and protection member, where the nose and chin protection member is fabricated from an impact resistant material. Each of the conduits has a deflection member which changes the direction of the air flow. The user's exhalations do not flow back through the filter member but are rather redirected through side ports in the mouth piece.

Snow Burial Survival Mask

A snow burial survival mask has an exhaust tube connected to a headgear. An intake port of the exhaust tube is positioned adjacent to a breathing portion of the headgear in order to intake exhaled carbon dioxide (CO2)-rich air. An air pump connected to the exhaust tube pump the exhaled air from the intake port to an exhaust port away from the user's face, extending survival time in a snow burial situation. At least one burial detection sensor such as a motion sensor, light sensor and/or CO2 sensor is configured to activate the air pump based on detection of a burial event.

Personal air filtering device with automatic control of air movement

A personal air filtering device comprising a rigid component comprising a transparent face shield, a fabric component, wherein the face shield and fabric combine to cover an entire head of a user and form a seal around the user's neck, an intake port with an inlet filter, an exhaust port with an exhaust filter, an air mover causing filtered air to enter the intake port from outside the device and exhaust air to exit the exhaust port, and a controller configured to adjust the rate at which the air mover moves air.

Mask coupling apparatus

A mask coupling apparatus coupled to an outer surface of a helmet and couplings of a mask including an adjusting mechanism comprising a single elastic strap coupled to the mask at both ends via the couplings, where the ends of the elastic strap are free to adjust the length of the mask coupling apparatus.

Head protection with integrated air filtration

A system of head protection with an integrated air filtration mechanism for protecting the user from impact/concussion and ambient air pollution. Example embodiments comprise a rigid helmet shell covering the head of the user and a fabric air barrier around the user's neck, a battery powered filtered centrifugal fan contained inside an external detachable cowl apparatus adjoins to a helmet external top spoiler with a mounting system that is easily removable to meet impact attenuation standards. The cowl apparatus directs clean filtered air into the duct systema top spoiler funnel connected to an internal clean air duct and exits the visor air curtain providing continual clean laminar airflow between the user's face and the face shield. One or more sensors, calibrated to detect harmful particulates and a processor to automatically activate the system as a protective measure when harmful particulates are encountered and a sensor to detect when filter element needs replacement.

BAYONET RECEIVER FOR HELMET
20250212986 · 2025-07-03 ·

Embodiments are directed toward a helmet including a receiver for adjustably securing a mask. The mask includes a bayonet to be received by the receiver. The receiver includes a bayonet coupler and a plate pressed against the coupler. The coupler has a channel for releasably engaging the bayonet of the mask mount. The plate is fixedly secured to the helmet shell outboard of the coupler. The coupler is rotatably secured to the plate, the coupler having a pin extending outwardly therefrom through the plate and to the exterior of the helmet shell.

Pathogen protection device

A pathogen protection device includes an enclosure made of air-tight material, the enclosure is configured to seal a user's head from outside of the enclosure and allow the user to see through; and a filter is disposed on a wall of the enclosure to allow filtered air to enter and exit the enclosure, the filter is configured to remove pathogens from the filtered air.
