Control of remotely operated vehicle's dynamic positioning system by external navigation system

Embodiments, including systems and methods, for remotely controlling underwater vehicles (such as ROVs) and deploying ocean bottom seismic nodes from the underwater vehicles. A direct data connection may be created between an Integrated Navigation System (located on a surface vessel) and a ROV controller/Dynamic Positioning (DP) system (which may be located on the surface vessel and/or the ROV). The INS may be configured to output the ROV target position and ROV position (such as standard 2 or 3 dimensional coordinates) to the DP system. The DP system may be configured to calculate the necessary ROV movements based on directly received data from the INS. Based on a selected ROV target destination or desired ROV action (which may be done automatically or by an operator), the ROV may be automatically positioned and/or controlled based on commands from the DP system based on commands and/or data from the INS.

A seismic source using tuned pulse sources to form an ultra-low frequency (ULF) cluster intended for use in generating seismic energy impulses for marine seismic exploration and more specifically to improved performance by increasing low frequency output to within a range of 1 Hz to 3 Hz to provide greater penetration of the seismic signal through complex overburden such as salt or basalt.

Marine geophysical surveying using a single streamer layout to replicate multiple baseline surveys

Numerous techniques and apparatus are disclosed relating to the performance of 4D marine geophysical surveys over at least first and second areas covered, respectively, by first and second preexisting baseline surveys. Performing the monitor surveys may include deploying a monitor survey streamer layout that can be used to repeat streamer positions of both the first and the second preexisting baseline surveys, and using the monitor survey streamer layout to perform the monitor survey over the first and second areas in a manner that repeats all streamer positions of the first preexisting baseline survey when over the first area, and that repeats all streamer positions of the second preexisting baseline survey when over the second area. Streamer layouts corresponding to the first and second preexisting baseline surveys may differ in at least one of the following characteristics: streamer separation or total number of streamers.

Dip angle-steering median filtering method based on a niche differential evolution algorithm

A dip angle-steering median filtering method based on a niche differential evolution algorithm, comprising the following steps: dividing a data to be processed into a series of overlapping time-space windows; obtaining an event energy curve in a time-space window and obtaining an event position according to a local maximum value of the event energy curve; obtaining event dip angles and coherence values of the event dip angles through the niche differential evolution algorithm at the event position; filtering the event dip angles according to the event dip angles and the coherence values of the event dip angles; and performing a median filtering sequentially along a filtering dip angle. The disclosure can simultaneously obtain all dip angles of intersecting events and a true three-dimensional feature enable the present disclosure to obtain a better filtering effect.
