A computing system is configured to detect irregular yawing at wind turbines. To this end, the computing system (i) for each respective turbine of an identified cluster of wind turbines: (a) obtains yaw-activity data indicative of the respective turbine's yaw activity during a window of time, and (b) based on obtained yaw-activity data, derives a yaw-activity-measure dataset having measures of the respective turbine's yaw activity during time intervals within the window of time, (ii) based on the respective yaw-activity-measure datasets for the turbines in the cluster, derives a cluster-level yaw-activity-measure dataset, (iii) evaluates the respective yaw-activity-measure dataset for one or more turbines in the cluster as compared to the cluster-level yaw-activity-measure dataset, (iv) based on the evaluation, identifies at least one turbine of the cluster that exhibited irregular yaw activity, and (v) transmits, to an output device, a notification of the irregular yaw activity at the at least one turbine.

OUTPUT METHOD FOR ELECTRONIC WBGT METER, AND ELECTRONIC WBGT METER

An electronic WBGT meter obtains a WBGT index reflecting wind velocity and radiation. A first calculation unit obtains an arbitrary-diameter globe temperature of the electronic WBGT meter with respect to each of specific thermal environments, and a second calculation unit obtains a standard-diameter globe temperature of ISO-compliant WBGT meter with respect to each of the specific thermal environments. A third calculation unit obtains a natural wet-bulb temperature with respect to each of the specific thermal environments. A correlation determination unit determines a correlation of the air temperature, the arbitrary-diameter globe temperature, and the relative humidity with corresponding the standard-diameter globe temperature and the natural wet-bulb temperature. A measurement calculation element storing the correlations is mounted in the electronic WBGT meter under a real thermal environment, and calculates the standard-diameter globe temperature and the natural wet-bulb temperature of ISO-compliant WBGT meter.

Requesting weather data based on pre-selected events

A ground weather center may transmit information requests that carry at least one meteorological specific triggering command. An airborne system may translate the triggering command into detectable meteorological conditions and may arm the trigger(s) for specific weather sensors accordingly and downlink information upon the airborne system detects the triggering conditions. By using such a triggering command, the airborne system may be able transmit the same amount of valuable information with less bandwidth by reducing the number of redundant downlinked packets.

One or more second devices are determined that are Internet devices at the given location and equipped with one or more elements capable of causing an ambient stimulation detectable by the sensors of one or more first devices. Data transmissions of the first devices are monitored. Issuing of the ambient stimulation is caused by a subset of the one or more second devices. It is determined whether the issuing of the ambient stimulation caused a significant change in the monitored data transmissions of the first devices.

Determining an obscurant metric for each of the one or more worksites based on the obscurant data, the environmental data, and the operational data; and directing the work machine to the one or more worksites based on the obscurant metric.
