ESTIMATING RAINFALL ADJUSTMENT VALUES
20170300602 · 2017-10-19 ·

A method for estimating adjusted rainfall values for a set of geo-locations using agricultural data comprises using a server computer system that receives, via a network, agricultural data records that are used to estimate rainfall values for the set of geo-locations. Within the server computer system, rainfall calculation instructions receive digital data including observed radar and rain-gauge agricultural data records. The computer system then aggregates the agricultural data records and creates and stores the agricultural data sets. The agricultural data records are then transformed into one or more distribution sets. The distribution sets are then used to determine regression parameters for a digital rainfall regression model. The digital rainfall regression model then is used to estimate adjusted rainfall values for a new set of geo-locations. The server computer system then generates a digital image that includes the geo-locations and the adjusted rainfall values.

Energy management for wireless sensor networks

This invention concerns remote sensor networks, and particularly energy management for wireless sensor networks. In a first aspect the invention is a wireless sensor node specified to operate for a given lifetime, including an onboard computer system and a set of one or more associated sensors. The computer system operates to periodically sample data from each sensor of the set of associated sensors, and to store a multi-state model representing one or more phenomena described by the collected data. And, the computer system operates to calculate a value associated with movement of the phenomena between the states of the multi-state model, and to adjust the rate of sampling of one or more of the set of associated sensors depending on the calculated value. In other aspects the invention is a network of sensor nodes and a method of operation.

DISTRIBUTED SYSTEMS FOR STORMWATER MONITORING AND REPORTING

Distributed systems and methods for the automatic monitoring and reporting of data relating to the chemistry and flow of stormwater (i.e. stormwater data) are presented. Multiple fluid sensor devices are exposed to stormwater via positioning the sensor devices in locations of interest. The sensor devices are arranged in self-healing mesh networks. The sensor devices are enabled to acquire stormwater data indicating various fluid properties that are desired to be monitored. A sensor device is further enabled to transmit its acquired stormwater data, either directly or indirectly, to one or more remote computing devices that is hosting a stormwater monitoring application (SMA). The SMA is enabled to process and analyze the stormwater data. The SMA generates measurements and reports based on the processed and analyzed stormwater data.
