Emissive display with photo-switchable polarization
A novel emissive display assembly incorporates a photo-switchable polarizer that is switchable between an active, polarizing, state and an inactive, non-polarizing, state depending on the predetermined level of intensity of UV light in the ambient light and enhance the viewable quality of the emissive display by minimizing or eliminating UV light reflection on the emissive display.
FUNCTIONAL SHEET INCLUDING POLYESTER RESIN, AND LENS USING FUNCTIONAL SHEET
The present invention provides a functional sheet including a functional layer provided between protective layers. The functional layer is a polarizing film layer, a photochromic layer, or a combination of the polarizing film layer and the photochromic layer. At least one of the protective layers includes a layer formed of a resin (C) containing a polyester resin (A) obtained as a result of polycondensation of 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol and 1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid and an aromatic polycarbonate resin (B), the polyester resin (A) being contained at a content of 10 to 100 parts by mass and the aromatic polycarbonate resin (B) being contained at a content of 0 to 90 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass as a total of the polyester resin (A) and the aromatic polycarbonate resin (B). A lens is provided with such a functional sheet.

A functional polarizing element for insert molding is provided which is constituted by a polarizing film; a cured coating film formed on a concave surface of the polarizing film by applying and drying a coating material containing 100 parts by mass of a transparent adhesive and 4 to 20 parts by mass of a functional dye; and a cured coating film of a transparent adhesive, and coating a convex surface of the polarizing film. Also, a functional polarizing lens is provided which is obtained by insert molding using the functional polarizing element.

A display apparatus includes a display panel configured to display an image. The display panel has a folding axis extending in a first direction. An optical film is disposed over the display panel. The optical film includes a circular polarizer including at least two phase retarders and one polarizer. Slow axes of each of the at least two phase retarders are located in the same quadrant of four quadrants of the optical film.

A display apparatus includes a display panel configured to display an image. The display panel has a folding axis extending in a first direction. An optical film is disposed over the display panel. Provided are: a retardation-increasing agent that has excellent compatibility and, when incorporated into a resin film, is capable of not only adjusting the thickness-direction phase difference toward a positive direction but also imparting the film with high retardation; a cellulose-based resin composition comprising the retardation-increasing agent; and a film that is obtained from the cellulose-based resin composition and has excellent optical properties. The retardation-increasing agent comprises a compound represented by the following Formula (1) or (2):

RETARDATION-INCREASING AGENT, CELLULOSE-BASED RESIN COMPOSITION USING SAME, AND FILM

An image display panel is disclosed with a bezel including an image display unit and a polarizing film provided on a viewing side of the image display unit via a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer; and a narrow-frame external bezel provided via an elastic intermediate layer, wherein a distance from the viewing-side outermost surface of the image display panel to the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is 75 μm or more, and the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is formed of a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition including a (meth)acrylic polymer (A) containing 80 mass % or more of a prescribed monomer (a) as a monofunctional monomer unit and 20 mass % or more of n-butyl acrylate or 70 mass % or more of an alkoxyalkyl (meth)acrylate are contained as the prescribed monomer (a), and a silane coupling agent (B), not containing polyether compound having a polyether skeleton and a reactive silyl group.
