Smoking article machine
A plant material assembly for separating cannabis plant material is provided having a plant material hopper configured to receive the cannabis plant material and feed the cannabis plant material to a plant material separator. The plant material separator is configured to separate undesirable plant material from desirable plant material by using a first roller, a second roller, and a third roller. The first roller and the second roller separating the cannabis plant material into the desirable plant material and the undesirable plant material by sending the desirable plant material in a first directional path and the undesirable plant material in a second directional path. Next, the third roller is used in relation to the first roller and the second roller, wherein the third roller redirects the undesirable plant material from the second directional path into a third directional path and finally into a catch depository.
Relating to smoking article assembly
A modular apparatus for smoking article assembly comprises a plurality of modules and a plurality of respective interface units, and a controller to control said plurality of modules via said interface units. The modular apparatus is configured to cause received rods of smokable material to undergo a first sequence of operations. The modular apparatus can be reconfigured so as to cause received rods of smokable material to undergo a second sequence of operations, different to the first sequence of operations. The first and second sequences of operations respectively form at least part of first and second processes for assembling smoking articles, each smoking article comprising one of said rods of smokable material, which is smoked in use.

Cigarettes and their construction
A cigarette is provided with the tobacco column portion adjacent the filter assembly encased by a heat shrink material whereby as the burn approaches the butt the heat shrink material begins to contract radially and compress the encased tobacco column restricting the air flow therethrough. This reduces the diameter of burning column adjacent the filter assembly and thus extinguishes or at least confines the remaining tobacco in the cigarette.

HERB DISPENSER AND ROLLER
An herb dispenser is provided. The herb dispenser includes a housing. A receptacle is secured to the housing and includes an inlet and an outlet. An herb may be placed within the receptacle. At least one electronic scale may weigh the herb. The present invention further includes a grinding mechanism. The grinding mechanism includes a motor and an herb grinder disposed within the housing. The grinding mechanism includes an inlet and an outlet. The inlet is positioned to receive an herb from the outlet of the receptacle. The herb dispenser further includes an onboard computer to receive commands from a user and automate the electronic scale and the grinding mechanism to dispense an amount of ground herb from a first delivery port of the housing.

Method and system for wrapping an assembly of segments
In the method and system for wrapping an assembly (5) of segments, an outer periphery of the assembly is affixed longitudinally to an edge portion of a piece of wrapping material (50) and at least one of the segments of the assembly is a rigid segment with a compressibility higher than about 10 Newton per 1.5 mm. The assembly of segments is provided to a rolling seat (10) arranged in the peripheral surface of a wrapping conveyor (1). A retaining surface (202) is arranged at a distance and opposite the peripheral surface of the wrapping conveyor, such as to contact the assembly supplied to the rolling seat with the retaining surface. The assembly of segments are wrapped by moving the wrapping conveyor relative to the retaining surface thereby creating a relative movement between the wrapping conveyor and the retaining surface such as to cause rotation of the assembly in the rolling seat along a longitudinal axis of the assembly and by providing the assembly of segments with a three-point guiding contact while moving the assembly of segments along the retaining surface.

Apparatus and method for wrapping a sheet of wrapping material around a rod-shaped article
An apparatus for wrapping a sheet of wrapping material (5) around a rod-shaped article (4) or a plurality of linearly arranged substantially cylindrical segments, either of which comprises a fragile segment (40), comprising: a rotatable drum (2) having a circumferential drum surface (20) comprising a plurality of flutes (21) adapted to hold a rod-shaped article (4) or a plurality of linearly arranged substantially cylindrical segments, and comprising attachment portions (22) arranged between the flutes (21) adapted to hold a sheet of wrapping material (5) having an adhesive on an outer surface, a rolling device (1) comprising a contact surface (10) arranged at a predetermined distance from the drum surface (20), to contact a periphery of the rod-shaped article (4) or plurality of linearly arranged substantially cylindrical segments to make the rod-shaped article (4) or plurality of linearly arranged substantially cylindrical segments move out of the flute (21) and roll over the outer surface having the adhesive thereon to wrap the sheet of wrapping material (5) around the rod-shaped article (4) or plurality of linearly arranged substantially cylindrical segments. At least a portion (101) of the contact surface (10) is resiliently displaceable away from the circumferential drum surface (20).
