An optical system (10) for image pickup includes a first refractive optical system (Si) disposed on an object side with respect to an aperture stop (St) and a second refractive optical system (S2) disposed on an image plane side with respect to the aperture stop. The first refractive optical system includes, in order from the object side (11), a first lens group (G1) with positive refractive power, a second lens group (G2) with positive refractive power, and a third lens group (G3) with negative refractive power. The second refractive optical system includes, in order from the object side (11), a fourth lens group (G4) with positive refractive power, a fifth lens group (G5) with positive refractive power, and a sixth lens group (G6) with negative refractive power. When focusing from infinity to a short distance, the second lens group and the fourth lens group move toward the object side.

Optical engine for three-dimensional printing

A spatial light modulator outputs modulated light including: modulated first light when the spatial light modulator receives first light; and modulated second light when the spatial light modulator receives second light. Projection optics project the modulated light onto: a first pixel region when a component or the spatial light modulator has a first position; and a second pixel region when the component or the spatial light modulator has a second position. The first and second pixel regions partially overlap. A pixel shifter moves the component or the spatial light modulator between: the first position when the spatial light modulator outputs the modulated first light; and the second position when the spatial light modulator outputs the modulated second light.

An imaging lens system includes four lens elements which are, in order from an object side to an image side: a first lens element, a second lens element, a third lens element and a fourth lens element, and each of the four lens elements has an object-side surface facing toward the object side and an image-side surface facing toward the image side. The first lens element has negative refractive power. The fourth lens element has positive refractive power, and the image-side surface of the fourth lens element is convex in a paraxial region thereof. At least one lens element of the imaging lens system has at least one lens surface having at least one inflection point.

IMAGE READING DEVICE

An image reading device can easily increase or improve the depth of field. The image reading device includes a lens array (1) including lenses (2) arrayed in a main scanning direction, a sensor array (4) including sensor elements (4) arrayed in the main scanning direction to receive light converged by the lenses (2), and an overlap preventer located between the lens array (1) and the sensor array (4) to prevent an overlap of images formed by the lenses (2). The overlap preventer includes a slit assembly (5) including at least one specific-light blocker or optically transparent columns (13).
