COMPOSITIONS, METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR SAMPLE PROCESSING
The present disclosure provides compositions and methods for making and using a support (e.g., a sample slide) for sample analysis. The present disclosure also provides compositions, methods, and systems for processing a sample on the support for use in nucleic acid sequence detection.
Specimen Support Tool, Support Apparatus and Specimen Preparation Method
A specimen support tool for supporting a slice prepared by using a microtome includes a specimen support member on which a groove for guiding the slice is formed.
Fluid composition sensor device and method of using the same
Various embodiments are directed to a collection media assembly for receiving one or more particles from a volume of fluid within a fluid composition sensor. In various embodiments, the collection media assembly comprises a housing, a transparent substrate, a collection media disposed upon the transparent substrate and configured to receive one or more particles from a volume of fluid received through a fluid inlet; and at least one alignment feature. The housing defines an open lower end configured for interaction with an imaging device, such that the one or more particles received by the collection media are visible through the transparent substrate from the open lower end. Each of the at least one alignment features is configured to engage a corresponding element disposed within the fluid composition sensor so as to constrain relative movement between the collection media assembly and the corresponding element in at least a first direction.
COVER MEMBER WITH ORIENTATION INDICIA
A cover member for use in the treatment of a sample on a substrate is disclosed. The cover member has fluid flow features and is adapted for use in an instrument, such as a laboratory instrument. The cover member comprises at least one orientation feature detectable by the instrument for ascertaining an orientation of the cover member. An automated method for detecting orientation of a cover member in a sample treatment assembly is also disclosed, in which a processor compares data corresponding to one or more images collected from the sample treatment assembly, with data representing a reference image to determine if a cover member is in the sample treatment assembly.

Specimen observation apparatus
An observation apparatus including: a top plate on which a container in which a specimen is accommodated can be placed, and through which illumination light can pass; a light source that emits the illumination light upward from below the specimen; an objective lens that focuses, below the specimen and the top plate, transmitted light which is the illumination light that has passed through the specimen from thereabove and that has passed through the top plate; and a camera that captures the transmitted light, wherein the light source emits the illumination light toward an area above the specimen from outside the objective lens in a radial direction, and the top plate is provided with a mark that specifies a viewing-field area of the camera.

Automated slide assessments and tracking in digital microscopy
The present disclosure provides methods for automated slide assessments made in conjunction with digital image-based microscopy. Automated methods of acquiring patient information and specimen information from prepared slides, and digitally linking such information into patient-tagged specimen data, are provided. Also provided are methods that include automatically identifying an optimal area for morphological assessment of a blood smear on a hematological slide, including methods for triggering the analysis of such an area, e.g., using an automated digital image-based hematology system. The present disclosure also provides devices, systems and computer readable media for use in performing processes of the herein described methods.
Fixtures, systems, and methods for configuring an imaging device for capturing images of an object
An example fixture includes a hollow elongate section having a first end and a second end, and the first end has an opening for receiving a lens portion of an imaging device and the second end is structurally configured to brace against a surface of an object being imaged. The hollow elongate section is configured to hold the lens portion of the imaging device at a fixed distance from an object being imaged and to control an amount of incident light on the lens portion. Example methods of configuring an imaging device for capturing images of an object include holding, via a fixture, a lens portion of an imaging device at a fixed distance from an object being imaged, controlling an amount of incident light on the lens portion of the imaging device, and holding a calibration object in a field of view of the imaging device.
Microscopic Examination Device and Method of Preparing a Sample for Microscopic Examination
The present invention relates to a microscopic examination device comprising a microscope and a sample preparation arrangement for preparing one or more samples to be examined in said microscope, said preparing including pipetting one or more liquids into one or more sample receptacles for said one or more samples, said sample preparation arrangement comprising a base and a receiving structure adapted to receive said one or more sample receptacles, said sample preparation arrangement further comprising a pipetting guide movably fixed or fixable in relation to the receiving structure, said pipetting guide comprising one or more pipette guiding structures positionable in relation to said one or more sample receptacles by pivoting said pipetting guide in relation to said base. A method of preparing one or more samples for microscopic examination is also part of the present invention.
