Cell culture microscopy slides
Disclosed is a cell culture microscopy slide comprising an optically transparent generally flat supporting surface (20) including upper and lower opposed substrate surfaces (27,28). A peripheral frame (40) surrounds the substrate (20), the frame (40) having a lower frame surface (44) and an upper frame surface (42). The lower frame surface (44) and the lower substrate surface (28) are generally flush. The upper frame surface (42) lies above the upper substrate surface (27), to form a well (32), and the upper and lower frame surfaces (42,44) are continuously flat and generally parallel. The substrate is preferably glass having a thickness of 1.7 mm.

SAMPLE PRODUCING METHOD
A sample producing method of producing an observation sample by placing an observation target object on an optically transparent plate, comprising a placement step of placing the observation target object on a surface of a liquid pool retained on the plate, and a fixing step of making an amount of a liquid of the liquid pool on the plate larger on one end portion side of the plate than on the other end portion side and attaching and fixing the observation target object to a surface of the plate sequentially from the other end portion toward the one end portion.
Hematology test slide
A hematology test slide has the same or similar dimensions as a chemical reagent test slide and an immunoassay test slide so that it may be used with these other slides on a single clinical instrument. The hematology slide includes, in order from top to bottom, a slide housing having a top housing member, a top cover slip, a U-shaped, transfer tape spacer, a bottom cover slip, a base gasket and a base plate. The U-shaped spacer has a curved end portion which defines a sample deposit area, where a blood sample is pipetted thereon, and a pair of straight, parallel, spaced apart legs extending from the curved end portion. The legs define a read area. A blood sample deposited on the hematology slide at the sample deposit area will flow by capillary action to the read area, where optical measurements are made on the sample.

System and Method for Template-Based Image Analysis
A template-based image analysis system and method are disclosed. A slide is loaded in a high-content image system (HCIS), wherein the slide includes a plurality of reference marks and a plurality of sample locations. An acquired images data store has previously acquired images stored therein. An image acquisition module acquires an image of the slide from the high-content imaging system. A feature identification module develops a binary image of the acquired image, wherein the binary image identifies areas associated with reference marks. A template generation module generates a template in accordance with the previously acquired images and a template alignment module aligns the generate template with the binary image. An offset calculation module determines an offset between the template and the binary image and an image segmentation module determines the coordinates of pixels of the acquired image that are associated with the sample locations in accordance with the calculated offset.
COVER SLIP STICKING DEVICE
It is an object to provide a cover slip sticking device capable of improving matching between types of clearing agents and cover slips. As a means for solving the problem, a cover slip sticking device includes a dipping bath (21) in which slide glasses (22) on which specimens are attached are housed to be dipped in a clearing agent, a holder (11) having a cover slip (10) and cover slip information (14), a mounting part (C) on which the holder is mounted, a sticking part (B) sticking the cover slip (10) taken out from the holder (11) on the slide glass (22), a reading unit (62) reading the cover slip information (14), a storage unit (65) storing a type of the clearing agent and matching information between types of clearing agents and types of cover slips and a determination unit (66) comparing the cover slip information (14) read by the reading unit (62) and the type of the clearing agent stored in the storage unit (65) with the matching information to determine whether the types match with each other or not.
