Display device
A display device having a horizontal viewing direction is provided in the present disclosure. The display device includes a display panel and a light controller. The display panel includes a plurality of first signal lines, respectively extending along a first direction parallel to the horizontal viewing direction. The light controller is disposed adjacent to the display panel, and the light controller includes a plurality of light blocking patterns, respectively extending along a second direction. The second direction has an angle with respect to the first direction, and an absolute value of the angle is greater than 0 degree and less than or equal to 45 degrees.
Fabrication of moiré on curved surfaces
Moiré is an appealing visual effect observable when two or more repetitive patterns are superposed. We introduce a method for designing and fabricating level-line moirés on curved surfaces. These moiré shapes are obtained by superposing a partly absorbing or partly light deviating curved base layer and a curved revealing layer formed by a grating of transparent lines or cylindrical lenses. The distances between base layer and revealing layer are adapted to the locally varying distances between successive transparent lines or cylindrical lenses of the curved revealing layer grating. We demonstrate the quality of our method by rendered simulations and by fabrication. The resulting level-line moiré display devices can be manufactured using different fabrication techniques, from multi-material 3D printing to molding.

DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING OPTICAL FILM
A display device includes a display panel that emits light from a plurality of pixels arrayed at predetermined pixel array pitches and an optical film, placed over the display panel so as to allow passage of light from the plurality of pixels, that includes first and second optical functional parts differing in optical performance from each other. The first and second optical functional parts are arrayed at predetermined functional part array pitches. Assuming that p (μm) denotes the pixel array pitches, that q (μm) denotes the functional part array pitches, and that d (μm) denotes a distance in a face-to-face direction between surfaces of the pixels that face the optical film and a surface of the optical film that faces the pixels, q≤0.5p and tan(asin(0.7/q))<p/d hold.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR STRUCTURED ILLUMINATION MICROSCOPY
The technology disclosed relates to structured illumination microscopy (SIM). In particular, the technology disclosed relates to capturing and processing, in real time, numerous image tiles across a large image plane, dividing them into subtiles, efficiently processing the subtiles, and producing enhanced resolution images from the subtiles. The enhanced resolution images can be combined into enhanced images and can be used in subsequent analysis steps.

METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING SEMICONDUCTOR DEVICES USING MOIRÉ PATTERNS
A method for manufacturing a semiconductor device may include: forming a first layer comprising a plurality of patterns, each pattern having a different respective pitch; performing exposure and development to form a second layer at a layer different from the first layer; determining whether a pitch shift of a part of exposure patterns formed is within a tolerance range, using a Moire pattern; and performing etching for the second layer when the pitch shift of the part of exposure patterns is determined to be within the tolerance range. Performing the exposure and the development may include forming a first exposure pattern corresponding to a key pattern having a first pitch, forming a second exposure pattern corresponding to a cell pattern having a second pitch, and forming a third exposure pattern corresponding to a middle pitch pattern having a third pitch between the first pitch and the second pitch.
