LENS DRIVING APPARATUS AND CAMERA MODULE INCLUDING THE SAME

A lens driving apparatus includes a lens barrel, a carrier configured to accommodate the lens barrel, a focusing unit configured to move the carrier in an optical axis direction, and an image stabilizer unit configured to move the lens barrel in the carrier in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis direction, wherein the image stabilizer unit includes a lens holder to which the lens barrel is fixed, and a frame includes a body supporting the lens holder to guide movement of the lens barrel and having a side portion forming an outer rim, and a reinforcing member coupled to the side portion of the body, wherein the side portion extends along the outer rim of the frame, while the reinforcing member has a step portion formed in a cross-section perpendicular to the extending direction of the side portion.

Lens driving module and electronic device

A lens driving module includes a base, a shield can, a driving mechanism, a space maintaining element and a damping element. The base has an opening. The shield can is coupled to the base and has a central aperture corresponding to the opening. The driving mechanism is disposed in the shield and configured to drive a lens unit to move. The space maintaining element is in physical contact with the shield can. The space maintaining element includes a plastic frame portion and a metal structure portion. The metal structure portion includes pins extending toward the base. The metal structure portion is insert-molded with the plastic frame portion to form the space maintaining element. The damping element is connected to the pins and the lens unit. The pins of the metal structure portion are located closer to the optical axis than part of the metal structure portion without the pins.

Adaptive lens

The invention relates to a tunable lens where the optical power can be adjusted. The lens consists of a deformable, non-fluid lens body sandwiched between a thin, flexible membrane and transparent back window, and an actuator system serving to change the overall shape of the membrane and lens body. The membrane is pre-shaped to have a Sag or Sagittal of at least 10 μm so that the lens has a non-zero optical power when the actuator system is not activated. In order to achieve a large optical power range for the lens, the membrane should preferably be made of a material having a Young's modulus in the range 2-1.000 MPa.

Compact folded camera

Folded cameras comprising a movable lens having a lens optical axis and positioned in an optical path between an optical path folding element (OPFE) and an image sensor, wherein the OPFE folds light from a first direction to a second direction, the second direction being substantially along the lens optical axis, and an actuator for controlled lens movement, the actuator including or being attached to a shield partially surrounding the lens, the shield having an opening positioned and dimensioned to enable installation of the lens into the shield from an insertion direction substantially parallel to the first direction. A folded camera disclosed herein may be included together with an upright camera in a dual-camera.

The movable part is movably disposed on the fixed part. The movable part is connected to an optical element. At least a portion of the driving assembly is disposed on the fixed part. The positioning assembly is disposed on the fixed part or the movable part to limit the movable part at an extreme position relative to the fixed part.

A camera may include a tilt actuator having one or more tilt magnets and one or more tilt coils. The tilt actuator may detect unexpected tilt between one or more lenses and an image sensor of the camera. The tilt actuator may control current of the tilt coils to interact with magnetic fields of the tilt magnets to generate motive force to rotate the lenses relative to the image sensor around one or more axes to compensate for the detected tilt. In addition, the tilt coils and tilt magnets may interact to move the lenses relative to the image sensor along an optical axis of the lenses to adjust a focus of the camera.

The overflow preventing unit prevents a calculation overflow of the first image stabilization target value while the control unit controls the image stabilization based on the second image stabilization target value.
