Volumetric display
A volumetric display capable of high-speed image presentation includes a resonance-type liquid lens having a focal length that is periodically adjusted using resonance of a liquid. An image projector projects an image toward a viewpoint position of a user via the resonance-type liquid lens. Further, the image projector projects an image toward the viewpoint position within a shorter time period than one-tenth of a variation cycle of the focal length. The image projector includes an LED and a DMD, for example.

VIRTUAL AND AUGMENTED REALITY DISPLAY SYSTEMS WITH EMISSIVE MICRO-DISPLAYS
A wearable display system includes one or more emissive micro-displays, e.g., micro-LED displays. The micro-displays may be monochrome micro-displays or full-color micro-displays. The micro-displays may include arrays of light emitters. Light collimators may be utilized to narrow the angular emission profile of light emitted by the light emitters. Where a plurality of emissive micro-displays is utilized, the micro-displays may be positioned at different sides of an optical combiner, e.g., an X-cube prism which receives light rays from different micro-displays and outputs the light rays from the same face of the cube. The optical combiner directs the light to projection optics, which outputs the light to an eyepiece that relays the light to a user's eye. The eyepiece may output the light to the user's eye with different amounts of wavefront divergence, to place virtual content on different depth planes.
LIGHT OUTPUT SYSTEM WITH REFLECTOR AND LENS FOR HIGHLY SPATIALLY UNIFORM LIGHT OUTPUT
In some embodiments, optical systems with a reflector and a lens proximate a light output opening of the reflector provide light output with high spatial uniformity and high efficiency. The reflectors are shaped to provide substantially angularly uniform light output and the lens is configured to transform this angularly uniform light output into spatially uniform light output. The light output may be directed into a light modulator, which modulates the light to project an image.
Room-sized holographic video
A method and system are disclosed for using circular symmetry to eliminate the angle limitations of an optical axis in a scanned aperture holography system. A Room-sized Holography System may be a scanned aperture holographic video display and may comprise a rotating platform, a telescope comprising a first lens and a second lens, and scanners at the Fourier plane where the focal length of the first lens and the second lens meet. The platform may rotate around an axis aligned with a spatial light modulator. When the platform rotates, the scanners rotate, thereby de-rotating a SAW image. The second lens may be a spherical reflective surface for redirecting light from the spatial light modulator, having passed through the first lens and reflected off a mirror-scanner, toward a user's eyes. The user may be on a chair above the spatial light modulator, wherein the chair is configured to rotate with the spatial light modulator.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DISPLAYING A THREE-DIMENSIONAL IMAGE
An apparatus for displaying a three-dimensional image includes abase; a driving mechanism disposed on the base; a support element movably mounted to the base and controllably driven by the driving mechanism; and a light source set disposed on the support element and configured to controllably form a predetermined pattern of light emission; wherein the driving mechanism is configured to move the support element in a predetermined pattern of movement, a plural-ity of light emission patterns formed by the light source set during the movement of the support element collectively constituting a three-di-mensional image perceptible by a human eye. A method for displaying a three-dimensional image is also disclosed.
