The eyewear retention apparatus includes a strap formed of a flexible material and having a length extending between first and second ends, wherein each of the first and second ends includes a first hole extending through the strap. The eyewear retention apparatus also includes first and second fittings, each of the first and second fittings includes an end region having an opening configured to receive a respective one of the second extremity of the pair of temples and a tab having a second hole. The eyewear retention apparatus further includes a fastener extending through the first hole and the second hole.

The present invention provides a combined hair headband having a pivotally attached eyeglass frame. The headband has a semi-circular shape for wearing on the head of the user and has a narrow headband member of less than one inch in width. The eyeglass frame has a pair of first and second gripping arms pivotally connected to the eyeglass frame. The end of the first gripping arm has a first attached pivot member connected to the first side of the headband member, so that the first gripping arm of the eyeglass frame is pivotally moveable with respect to the first side of the headband member. Also, the end of the second gripping arm has a second attached pivot member connected to the second side of the headband member, so that the second gripping arm of the eyeglass frame is pivotally moveable with respect to the second side of the headband member. The eyeglass frame may be heart shaped, or circular, or any other shape.
