EYEWEAR WITH DIRECTION OF SOUND ARRIVAL DETECTION
Eyewear providing a visual indicator to a hearing-impaired user indicating a direction of arrival of a sound relative to the eyewear to help the user obtain greater awareness of the surrounding environment. An eyewear optical assembly includes an image display displaying the visual indicator discernable by the user and corresponding to the direction of arrival of the sound, even when a sound source is not viewable through the optical assembly. The image display also displays an image indicative of the sound source. A front portion of an eyewear frame includes a light array, where one or more lights of the light array is illuminated to indicate the direction of arrival and intensity of the sound source. An array of vibrating devices may also be used to indicate the direction of arrival and intensity of the sound source.
One stem reversible reading glasses
One stem reversible glasses include a first lens and a second lens. A stem having a proximal end and a distal end is connected adjacent one of the first lens and the second lens at the proximal end. An earpiece is connected adjacent the distal end of the stem, the earpiece including means for securing the earpiece to a right ear of a user when the glasses are in a first reading position and for securing the earpiece to a left ear of the user when the glasses are in a second reading position. A nosepiece is disposed between the first lens and the second lens dimensioned and configured for receiving a nose of a user when the glasses are in either the first reading position or the second reading position.
SPECTACLE STRUCTURE WITH TRANSFORMABLE FRAMES
A spectacle structure with transformable frames is disclosed. In the spectacle structure, an upper frame and a lower frame have corresponding lens assembling parts, as well as corresponding latched holes and latches to combine the upper frame and the lower frame to one spectacle frame. When the upper frame and the lower frame are going to be separated, push resistant blocks of the upper frame can be pushed to move the latches away from the latched position. Accordingly, the upper frame and the lower frame can be separated or assembled to form half-rimmed or full-rimmed spectacles according to the user's needs.
Eyeglasses with Detachable Temples and Nose Grip and Method of Use
The present invention provides an eyeglasses system and method of use comprising a frame, a temple attachment assembly positioned on the ends of the frame, detachable temples having a hollow member extending therefrom for attachment to the temple attachment assembly, and a bridge nose grip assembly so as to allow a wearer to detach a temple from one side of the frame and to wear the eyeglasses comfortably, securely and without movement of the eyeglasses while reclining on the same side as the detached temple.
Eyewear with parametric audio unit
Eyewear for outputting audio information to the wearer include an eyewear temple, which has at least one loudspeaker. The eyewear temple is configured for placement on an ear of the wearer and spaced apart from an ear opening of the wearer's ear so that the sound waves generated by the loudspeaker are transmitted over the surroundings to the spaced ear opening. The loudspeaker is an ultrasonic loudspeaker. The eyewear has a parametric audio unit that includes the ultrasonic loudspeaker and configured to generate an audible sound beam directed at the ear.
Process and wearable device equipped with stereoscopic vision for helping the user
Wearable device for helping a user and process for using such device, which device includes at least one image and/or video acquisition unit of the stereoscopic or multicamera type, a data processing unit connected to the image and/or video acquisition unit, and a unit indicating information processed by the processing unit to the user. The device also includes additional sensors connected to the processing unit and is intended to perform a plurality of functions, which are activated and/or deactivated for defining a plurality of device operating states alternative to each other, there being provided a unit analyzing the three-dimensional structure of a scene and the signals generated by the sensors for assigning the operating state.
Eyewear supporting embedded electronic components
Techniques for providing eyewear with electrical components are disclosed. The electrical components can provide electrical technology to eyewear (e.g., eyeglasses) without having to substantially compromise aesthetic design principles of the eyewear. Often, the electrical components can be attached to the eyewear as an after-market enhancement. The electrical components can operate independently or together with other electrical components provided elsewhere.
ADJUSTABLE POWER LENS AND EYEGLASSES FRAME
Devices providing adjustable optical power have previously been proposed for use as corrective lenses in prescription eyeglasses. There is disclosed a lens having optical power adjustable by relative lateral translation of two lens elements, the lens comprising: a first lens element sealed to a cover to define a cavity therebetween; a second lens element disposed within the cavity and coupled to an elongate drive element extending laterally from the second lens element, the second lens element being arranged to be driven laterally relative to the first lens element by lateral translation of the elongate drive element to thereby adjust the optical power of the lens, the lens comprising a lateral projection into which the cavity and drive element extend, the lateral projection having there mounted an adjuster for driving lateral translation of the elongate drive element. The lens reduces or prevents the ingress of dirt, moisture, sweat and grease between surfaces of the lens elements. There is also disclosed an eyeglasses frame, such as may be particularly suited to said adjustable power lens.
FOLDABLE GLASSES WITH MAGNIFIER
Pairs of foldable glasses are provided. The pair of foldable glasses includes two lenses surrounded by a frame, the two lenses having a first side and a second side, the first side facing outwards and the second side facing the wearer, a hinged bridge for connecting the lenses together and permitting the lenses to fold together, and two temple pieces extending from an outer edge of the frame with a hinged connection between each of the temple pieces and the outer edge of the frame enabling the two temple pieces to fold inwards or forwards, wherein the two temple pieces have a hinged joint permitting a rear section of the temple pieces to fold forwards underneath the temple pieces, wherein the rear sections each include a loop configured to enable the pair of foldable glasses to be secured to a separate device.
Eyeblack glass frames
A sun glare reducer provides a right templar portion and a left templar portion. Each of the right templar portion and the left templar portion includes an elongate member having a first free end and a second connected end that connects the elongate member to the facial portion. A facial portion extends between the right templar portion and the left templar portion. The facial portion includes a right under-portion that extends inwardly toward a center of the facial portion from the right vertical portion and a left under-portion that extends inwardly toward a center of the facial portion the left vertical portion. A light absorbing surface extends outwardly away from each of the right under-portion and the left under-portion.
