Spring hinge with accommodation for flexible printed circuit

A head-mounted wearable device (HMWD) with a form factor of eyeglasses incorporates hinges between a front frame and temples. The hinges provide a fully enclosed passage for a flexible printed circuit (FPC). The FPC allows electrical connectivity between devices in the front frame and in the temple. The hinge includes a cam device that provides a biasing force that allows the temples to remain in one of four configurations: closed, transit, neutral, and maximum neutral. When in the transit configuration the biasing force provided by the cam device tends to move the temples towards the closed configuration. When in the maximum neutral configuration the biasing force provided by the cam device tends to move the temples towards the neutral configuration. During use, this biasing of the temples provides a gentle clamping force that assists in maintaining the HMWD on the user's head.

BUTTON ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THEREOF

A method of manufacturing a button-enabled housing assembly includes pre-forming a composite button component or insert having an elastically flexible button membrane that is mounted on a rigid frame, and thereafter molding a housing over the button insert. The composite button insert is formed in a co-molding operation and can include a rigid island in the flexible button membrane for supporting a cosmetic keycap.

GLASSES WITH SELECTIVELY ADJUSTABLE OPTICAL POWER LENSES

A method of fabricating a lens element for an adjustable power lens of the kind comprising two lens elements that are slidable relative to one other in a direction transverse the optical axis of the lens and have respective lens surfaces that are shaped to act together to form a corrective lens, the power of which varies according to the relative disposition of the two lens elements, the method comprising the steps of forming a lens puck having two opposite faces, which are shaped to form opposite lens surfaces of one of the lens elements of the adjustable power lens, the puck having at least one alignment feature, and thereafter edging the puck to a desired eye shape with reference to the alignment feature.

Hand held temple bending tool

A hand held tool (10, 60, 70) for use by an optician in bending the temples (120) of a pair of eyeglasses includes an elongated handle portion (12, 62, 72) capable of being held in the palm of the optician's hand. A mandrel including a convexly formed anvil (14, 64, 74) with a nonslip upper surface (67, 77a) extends from a first end of the handle portion. A concavely formed thumb recess (16, 66, 76) is located adjacent the first end of the handle portion and is located opposite the anvil (14, 64, 74). The optician's thumb (100) fits within the recess when the handle portion is being held. The free end (110) of an eyeglass temple is placed over the mandrel (14, 64, 74) and is bent over the mandrel by the optician.

Method for monitoring a spectacle lens

On a first aspect, the spectacle lens is selected as including a transparent support in which is coded an identifier readable by an external reading tool for retrieving the identifier. A distant server is contacted using the identifier and data related to the spectacle lens is so gathered. On a second aspect, data related to the spectacle lens is provided to a predetermined database. Upon receiving a request issued from a requester, the database is accessed and at least some of the data is retrieved, the request including at least part of the identifier, and the retrieved data is sent to the requester.

Integrated and automatic eyeglass temple assembly device

The present invention discloses an integrated and automatic eyeglass temple assembly device, including a left table frame and a right table frame. The left table frame and the right table frame are respectively provided with a frame, and each upper end of the frame is provided with a hinge feeding tray. The left table frame and the right table frame are respectively provided with a temple box, a clamping mechanism and a single temple holding assembly. The mounting slot of the temple is located between the temple clamping pushing plate and the temple holding assembly, the movable slot is at the same level with the mounting portion of the hinge, and each temple box is provided with a temple feeding cylinders. The object of the present invention is to provide integrated and automatic eyeglass temple assembly device, in which two feeding trays are used for feeding hinges onto 2 working stations and by pushing and clamping hinges with the cylinders, hinge pushing boxes and hinge pressing plates, it is possible to achieve integrated and automatic temple assembly on both working stations and improve the working efficiency.

EYEWEAR DEVICE LENS RETENTION MECHANISM

An eyewear device has a lens retention mechanism that establishes electrical contact between onboard electronics and a lens ring by a resiliently compressible electrical contact member, such as a spring washer, located within a housing defined by a body of the eyewear device. The retention mechanism can further include a lock screw that is selectively engageable with the lens ring to allow disposal between retention and release of a lens by the lens ring, the lock ring being captured in the housing such as to resist removal of the lock screw from the housing when the lens ring is released for lens removal.

OPTIMISED PAD HOLDER AND SPECTACLE MOUNT COMPRISING AT LEAST ONE SUCH OPTIMISED PAD HOLDER

A pad holder for spectacle mounts, the pad holder comprising a fastening part configured to be mounted in a housing of the spectacle mount along an insertion axis X oriented from back to front, the fastening part comprising a closing face comprising an auxiliary groove configured to cooperate with a lens of the spectacle mount in order to lock the pad holder and a mounting face comprising at least one blocking tooth configured to be forced against a wall of the housing during the mounting of the lens.
