SMART AUTOMATED CONTACT LENS CLEANSING DEVICE
A cleansing device that forces fresh, unused contact lens solution in a manner that jets the front and back surfaces of an item with sufficient force to prevent air bubbles from clinging to surface areas of the item. Further, the cleansing device submerges the item in the fresh, unused contact cleansing solution for a controlled threshold cleansing time to ensure proper removal of contaminate build-ups on the item. Further still, according to inventive concepts, devices are automatically cleansed and dried to ensure sterility. As such, the cleansing device is ready for another cleansing cycle prior to the user's next scheduled cleansing cycle.
METHOD FOR STERILIZING OPHTHALMIC LENS
A method for sterilizing an ophthalmic lens with long-term inhibition against regrowth of micro-organisms includes the step of placing the ophthalmic lens in a sealed container containing a care solution. A photocatalytic agent coated in an inner surface of the container is exposed to ultraviolet light, to cause the photocatalytic agent to undergo a photocatalytic reaction under the ultraviolet light, which causes destruction of micro-organisms on the ophthalmic lens.
Ocular device case and refill container used for the ocular device case
An ocular device case with a new structure that can solve unexpected problems in the related art, for example, adverse effects on user's eyes by splashes of treatment liquid upon pouring the treatment liquid into the device case from a separate refill container. In a device case including: a case body accommodating treatment liquid with ocular devices such as a contact lens; and a lid, a container receiving portion is provided such that a spout of a refill container is brought into contact with the refill receiving portion so as to allow the treatment liquid to flow into the device case.
Lens AID and lens AID system and techniques for the insertion and removal of contact and scleral lenses
A lens aid, lens aid system, powered light source, and cleaning and storage compartment for the lens aid system that uses a lens cup of soft pliable material providing an improved visual method including a hands-free or one hand method for the insertion of a contact lens and more preferably a scleral lens into the eye.
DEVICES FOR CLEANING CONTACT LENSES
A device for cleaning a contact lens includes a lid, a base portion and a drawer unit detachably coupled to the base portion. The drawer unit includes a container holding a volume of fluid therein. The device also includes a vibration generator for generating an oscillatory motion on the container, where the oscillatory motion induces turbulence in the fluid with sufficient force to dislodge deposits from a lens immersed in the fluid. The device also includes a circuit board secured to the base portion and a light source for generating radiation to disinfect the dislodged deposits in the fluid. A suspension secures the light source to the circuit board and a resonance frequency of the suspension is offset from a frequency of the oscillatory motion.
Smart automated contact lens cleansing device
An automated contact lens cleansing device, and method of using the device, for performing cleansing cycles, the device comprising: a solution storage unit, a receptacle containing sterile cleansing solution, wherein the receptacle becomes unsealed when mated with the storage unit; a first solution transfer line that draws the sterile cleaning solution from the receptacle; a cleansing reservoir that receives the cleansing solution drawn by the first solution transfer line; a circulator that circulates the sterile cleansing solution through the cleansing reservoir for a determined time, wherein the sterile cleansing solution is determined to be used solution upon circulating through the cleansing reservoir for the determined circulating time; a second solution transfer line that draws the used solution from the cleansing reservoir; a memory that stores instructions to perform the cleansing cycles; and a processor that controls circulation of the sterile cleansing solution through the cleansing reservoir for the determined time.
OCULAR DEVICE CASE AND REFILL CONTAINER USED FOR THE OCULAR DEVICE CASE
Provided is an ocular device case with a new structure that can solve unexpected problems in the related art, for example, adverse effects on user's eyes by splashes of treatment liquid upon pouring the treatment liquid into the device case from a separate refill container. In a device case 10 including: a case body 18 accommodating treatment liquid 12 with ocular devices such as a contact lens 16; and a lid 20, a container receiving portion 48 is provided such that a spout 106 of a refill container 100 is brought into contact with the refill receiving portion 48 so as to allow the treatment liquid 12 to flow into the device case 10.
LENS AID AND LENS AID SYSTEM AND TECHNIQUES FOR THE INSERTION AND REMOVAL OF CONTACT AND SCLERAL LENSES
A lens aid, lens aid system and powered light source that uses a lens cup of soft pliable material providing an improved visual method including a hands-free or one hand method for the insertion of a contact lens and more preferably a scleral lens into the eye.
Container for accommodating an ophthalmic lens during a lens treatment process
A container (1) for accommodating an ophthalmic lens during a lens treatment process has a longitudinal axis (11) and comprises as separate elements a containment element (2), a mounting element (3), and a retaining element (4). The containment element (2) comprises a tubular section (21) and a bottom (22) arranged at a distal end of the tubular section (21), the bottom (22) protruding convexly towards the outside at the distal end of the tubular section (21) and being provided with a number of apertures (23, 24), the tubular section (21) at a proximal end (25) thereof having a latch (26) protruding from the proximal end (25) of the tubular section (21) towards the mounting element (3). The mounting element (3) comprises a sidewall (31) extending along the longitudinal axis (11) of the container (1), the sidewall (31) being provided with recesses or orifices (32) which are in engagement with the latch (26) of the containment element (2). The mounting element (3) further comprises an access opening (37) arranged at a proximal end of the mounting element (3) remote from the containment element (2). The retaining element (4) is fixedly arranged in between the containment element (2) and the mounting element (3), the retaining element (4) being configured to prevent the ophthalmic lens from being washed out of the containment element (2) and to permit access for a gripper through the access opening (37) of the mounting element (3) into the containment element (2) for insertion and removal of the ophthalmic lens.
Contact lens cleaning system with insulation
The present invention relates generally to systems and methods for cleaning and disinfecting contact lenses. In various respects, the invention is directed to an insulated system that reduces heat loss from catalyzed neutralization of a disinfecting solution resulting in an increased temperature of the disinfection solution during the disinfection process and neutralization of the disinfection solution. The increased temperature increases the kill rate (i.e., better reduction) of microorganisms present on the lenses, and increases the neutralization rate of the disinfection solution. Increase of the kill rate allows better reduction of microorganisms resistant to elimination using previous systems and methods, (e.g., Acanthamoeba cysts), and decreases the amount of time as compared to previous systems and methods necessary to reduce microorganisms to acceptable levels.
