Eyeglasses with Detachable Temples and Nose Grip and Method of Use
The present invention provides an eyeglasses system and method of use comprising a frame, a temple attachment assembly positioned on the ends of the frame, detachable temples having a hollow member extending therefrom for attachment to the temple attachment assembly, and a bridge nose grip assembly so as to allow a wearer to detach a temple from one side of the frame and to wear the eyeglasses comfortably, securely and without movement of the eyeglasses while reclining on the same side as the detached temple.
Adjustable tint eyewear using polarized filters
Eyewear is configured to use pairs of polarized lenses, with one pair held stationary within an eyeglass frame, and the remaining pair disposed adjacent with the fixed pair and permitted to rotate under the control of the wearer. A novel mechanism is included within the eyewear for the wearer to use in rotating the movable lenses with respect to the fixed lenses. In particular, a flexible member is included to surround a majority of each rotatable lens, with the flexible member riding within a channel formed in the frame. A lever, or other type of hand control fixture, is attached to the flexible member. The wearer may than move the lever back and forth, which imparts a linear motion to the flexible member. The linear motion of the flexible member is translated into a rotational movement of the attached lenses, thus creating a wearer-adjustable tint.
Foldable eyeglasses and case
An eyewear system including eyeglasses and a case, the eyeglasses having a first lens, a second lens, and a bendable bridge disposed between the first lens and second lens, the bendable bridge having a spring providing a spring force when the bridge is bent from a rest position, the eyeglasses being adapted to move from a wearable configuration in which the first and second lens do not overlap to a stored configuration in which the first and second lenses at least partially overlap, the bendable bridge being bent from its rest position in the stored configuration, the case having an opening through which the eyeglasses pass during insertion and guides sized and configured with respect to the eyeglasses to engage and fold the eyeglasses against spring force of the bridge to the stored configuration during insertion of the eyeglasses through the opening and into the case.
COMFORT ATTACHMENT ASSEMBLY FOR EYEWEAR
There is provided an assembly sized to fit over the lens of a pair of metal eyeglasses wherein the assembly is composed of one rigid material and one flexible material. The assembly is installed over a pair of existing eyeglasses to enhance comfort. The assembly also provides an adjustable nose pad that is composed of a rubber and creates a comfortable brow bar for the forehead of the wearer such that no rigid metal frame parts impinge upon the wearer.
EYEWEAR ASSEMBLY HAVING AN ENERGY DISPERSION MECHANISM
An energy dispersion mechanism can be integrated into the eyewear design to incorporate a more resilient lens holding structure that can disperse the energy received during an impact and retain the lens in place. The energy dispersion mechanism comprises an impact dispersing material seated within a groove of a first frame portion, the impact dispersing material extending beyond the first frame portion to form a nose bridge which joins the first frame portion to a second frame portion; and the impact dispersing material is seated within a groove of a second frame portion. The impact dispersing material may be overmoulded on the eyewear to allow efficient manufacturing.
Nose protection apparatus and methods
A nose protection apparatus and related methods, for protecting a human nose from prolonged eyewear contact, the apparatus comprising: a center bridge region and two outer protective regions joined by the center bridge region, fabricated from a silicone material into an integral unit; a nasal bridge clearance cutout beneath the center bridge region; omitting any added adhesives, wherein all adhesion properties of the apparatus are inherent to material properties of the silicone material; omitting any structural elements for straightening the apparatus for widening a user's nostrils; a width selected from the width group consisting of: an adult width from 1.2″ to 2.8″; and a child width from 0.6″ to 1.4″; a height selected from the height group consisting of: an adult height from 0.375″ to 0.875″; and a child height from 0.1875″ to 0.4375″; a thickness from 0.02″ to 0.05″; and a durometer hardness from 5 to 20.
Ostomy pouching system
An ostomy pouching system is described. A baseplate includes a seal adapted to be securely placed on the skin about the perimeter of tissue defining a stoma incised into a patient. An ostomy reservoir forms a sealed space within which discharge can be received and held. A flex layer includes a seal that is airtight, watertight, or both, and which is structurally interposed between at least a portion of two or more of the skin, tissue, stoma, baseplate, and ostomy reservoir. The flex layer includes a resiliently and elastically malleable phase change material. The flex layer is deformable such that at least one portion of the flex layer can transmute the magnitude of a force applied to the flex layer and redirect the force. External forces acting upon at least one of the skin, tissue, stoma, baseplate, and ostomy reservoir are mitigated, transmuted, and isolated by the flex layer.
Device for coupling a temple to an eyeglass frame
Eyewear device includes an eyeglass frame, a temple, and a coupling device for hingedly coupling the temple to the eyeglass frame, formed of an elastically deformable material, and including a single flexible arm of an elongate shape and a front end portion positioned and retained against the front surface of the eyeglass frame. The single flexible arm extends from the front end portion into a slot in the frame and an internal elongate slot in the temple positioned in opposing alignment therewith. The elasticity of the coupling device flexibly, hingedly couples the temple to the eyeglass frame and allows a temple that has suffered inordinate bending moments and directions to instantly return to nominal use by retightening or replacing the coupling device, and/or by repositioning the temple to properly abut the eyeglass frame.
PAIR OF EYE GOGGLES
A pair of eye goggles is provided. The pair of eye goggles includes a nosepiece fittable over a portion of a wearer's face, the nosepiece comprising one or more strands, at least a portion of the nosepiece comprising a phase change material, wherein a shape of the nosepiece changes upon an application of an energy to the phase changing portion to conform to the face; and a pair of eyepieces connected to the nosepiece.
Eyeglass frame for head mounted display
An eyeglass frame 12 for a head mounted display 10 comprises a lens supporting member 28a, 28b that supports eyeglasses 26a, 26b and is mounted on a mount portion 16 of the head mounted display 10; and plurality of engaging portions 38a˜38d, 42a˜42d, 44a,44b, 48a, 48b that are formed on positions corresponding to various shapes of the mount portion 16 on outer circumferential portion of the lens supporting member 28a, 28b and engage with an internal wall surface 36 of the mount portion 16, wherein the engaging portions 38a˜38d include elastic members slidable along the internal wall surface.
