Configurable eyewear system
The present disclosure relates to a novel eyewear system and a method to configure the same. An eyewear system consistent with the present disclosure comprises an eyewear frame and a lens casing attached thereto. The eyewear system comprises a set of insertable lenses fitted between said eyewear frame and said lens casing. The lens casing comprises a pliable material to receive the set of insertable lenses. Further, the present disclosure provides a method for a consumer to design and order a pair of eyewear using an online system. The method may include prompting a user to choose from a plurality of unique frame options. Based on the user's selection of the frame, display to the user a plurality of lens casing options. In addition, based on the user's selection of the lens casing options, associate the selected frame and the selected lens casing with a customer order.
Flexible bridge assembly for eyewear and method of assembling flexible eyewear
There is provided a flexible bridge assembly, in which rigid attachment members are at least partially contained or embedded in a flexible body to provide attachment points to lens retainers in the eyewear, with the flexible body therebetween allowing flexibility of the eyewear at or about the bridge area. Eyewear including such flexible bridge assemblies is also provided.
Eyewear frames and production method
The invention relates to an eyewear frame, comprising a forehead part with two ends and arranged to extend around the eyes of a user when worn and two temple parts each extending rearwardly from a front of the eyewear frame, and from each end of the forehead part. The forehead part and the temple part being moulded together in a single mould from a first polymer material and comprising a plastic hinge located at the junction of each end of the forehead part and each temple part, said plastic hinge being formed by a region of the polymer material having thickness which is significantly less than the thickness of corresponding forehead part ends and temple parts adjacent the plastic hinge region, such that the temple parts may be moved about the plastic hinge with respect to the forehead part between an open position in which the eyewear may be worn on a user's head, and a closed position in which the temple parts are arranged approximately parallel to the forehead part and the eyewear may be more conveniently stowed when not in use. The plastic hinges exert a restoring force which urges the temple parts of the frame to either the closed or open position, such that the eye wear frame automatically folds back to the folded position after use, or automatically opens to the open position. The plastic hinge may be formed as a curved strip. The eyewear frame may be co-moulded with the first polymer material and a second polymer material, having a lower modulus of elasticity, or flexural modulus, than the first polymer.
Eyewear Device
An eyewear device and a method performed at an eyewear device is described, the eyewear device comprising: a frame comprising one or more elements configured, in use, to be in physical contact with at least one body part of a user or wearer of the eyewear device; one or more arms; and one or more microphones, wherein the one or more microphones are configured to detect pressure waves generated at the one or more elements. The method comprises: receiving one or more signals indicative of internal body sounds from the one or more microphones, wherein the one or more microphones are configured to detect pressure waves transmitted by the one or more elements; and processing said signals.
BISTABLE SPECTACLES KNUCKLE
A bistable hinge element for an eyeglasses frame, which includes a temple cage having a bottom extended laterally by two longitudinal side walls which define a housing that opens onto the proximal transverse face through an opening that is U-shaped in cross-section. The hinge element further includes a front cage which has a bottom extended laterally by two longitudinal side walls which define a housing that opens onto the proximal transverse face through an opening that is U-shaped in cross-section, and a solid body that is elastically deformable along the longitudinal axis, and which has a central portion, with a cross-section corresponding to the transverse cross-section of the U-shaped openings, which is extended at each end by a bulge of a cross-section that is complementary to the transverse cross-section of the housings of the temple and front cages.
3D-PRINTED GLASSES STRUCTURES
Provided is a 3D-printed glasses structure, including a frame, at least two threads and a stereoscopic mesh structure. The frame and at least two threads together define a spatial region, and the at least two threads are part of a contour of the frame. The stereoscopic mesh structure has a plurality of supporting strips and is disposed on the at least two threads. The plurality of supporting strips forms a stereoscopic mesh in an interleaving manner.
EYEGLASSES AND FRAME THEREOF
A pair of eyeglasses includes two lenses and a frame. The frame includes two ring bodies, two lens fasteners, two supporting units and at least two flexible fasteners. The two ring bodies are connected to each other, and the two ring bodies each respectively include a hollow area. The two lens fasteners are respectively connected to the two ring bodies and surround the hollow area, The two supporting units are respectively connected to the two ring bodies. The at least two flexible fasteners are respectively supported by the two supporting units, respectively located next to the two lens fasteners, and respectively combined with the two ring bodies. A groove is formed between the lens fastener and the flexible fastener which is adjacent to the lens fastener. The groove is used for fixing the lens.
Flexible bridge assembly for rimless eyewear
A flexible bridge assembly for eyewear is provided. The assembly includes a body comprising a flexible first mounting portion and a second flexible mounting portion each extending from opposite ends of a flexible central portion. The assembly also includes a first mounting member embedded in the first mounting portion; and a second mounting member embedded in the second mounting portion. The first mounting portion and first mounting member comprise a first passage to enable the flexible bridge assembly to be secured to a first lens of the eyewear, and the second mounting portion and second mounting member comprise a second passage to enable the flexible bridge assembly to be secured to a second lens of the eyewear. Rimless eyewear comprising the flexible bridge assembly is also provided.
BONE CONDUCTIVE SOUND GENERATING DEVICE
A bone conductive sound generating device is provided and includes a sound generating mechanism and a fixing mechanism. The fixing mechanism is configured to act on the sound generating mechanism, such that the sound generating mechanism adheres to and fit with a back of an auricle of a user at least when the sound generating mechanism is in use. Accordingly, the present application may improve the sound quality of the bone conductive sound generating device, improving listening experience for the user.
CABLE DISPENSING AND RETRACTING DEVICE
An eyewear retention device is disclosed that includes a length of resilient braided or monofilament line, terminating at each end in a tapered, rubberized retention tubing. One or more retractable spring loaded mechanisms have a locking mechanism for easy extraction and retraction back and forth by simply pulling on said line. The combination of the resilient line and the mechanisms produces a tensioned arc such that in addition to retaining eyeglasses around wearers head when in use when not in use with a simple pull on said line, the retention device forms a suspended arc over the wear's upper torso such that the device does not contact the wear's upper torso or their vestment when donned over a wearer's eyes.
