OPHTHALMIC APPARATUS WITH CORRECTIVE MERIDIANS HAVING EXTENDED TOLERANCE BAND
20170273781 · 2017-09-28 ·

The embodiments disclosed herein include improved toric lenses and other ophthalmic apparatuses (including, for example, contact lens, intraocular lenses (IOLs), and the like) and associated method for their design and use. In an embodiment, an ophthalmic apparatus (e.g., a toric lens) includes one or more angularly-varying phase members comprising a diffractive or refractive structure, each varying the depths of focus of the apparatus so as to provide an extended tolerance to misalignment of the apparatus when implanted in an eye. That is, the ophthalmic apparatus establishes an extended band of operational meridian over the intended correction meridian.

The embodiments disclosed herein include improved toric lenses and other ophthalmic apparatuses (including, for example, contact lens, intraocular lenses (IOLs), and the like) that includes one or more refractive angularly-varying phase members, each varying depths of focus of the apparatus so as to provide an extended tolerance to misalignments of the apparatus. Each refractive angularly-varying phase member has a center at a first meridian (e.g., the intended correction meridian) that directs light to a first point of focus (e.g., at the retina of the eye). At angular positions nearby to the first meridian, the refractive angularly-varying phase member directs light to points of focus of varying depths and nearby to the first point of focus such that rotational offsets of the multi-zonal lens body from the center of the first meridian directs light from the nearby points of focus to the first point of focus.

Sonic and ultrasonic contact lens apparatus

Disclosed are methods and apparatus, including eyewear and a contact lens, for delivering sound energy to an eye, comprising two or more sonic or ultrasonic transducers that emit sound energy, wherein each transducer is (i) operably linked to a power source and (b) capable of emitting sound energy at more than one frequency and for a variable time period; and a positioning mechanism to position the transducers at an exterior surface of an eye so as to deliver sound energy to an internal part of the eye, for example the Schlemm's canal or trabecular meshwork.

SYSTEM AND DEVICE FOR PROMOTING EYE ALIGNMENT
20170235159 · 2017-08-17 ·

A system includes glasses for executing a process to correct the alignment of an eye if a misalignment condition is detected. The glasses include lens that change opacity as instructed by a processor. The system determines that an eye is not aligned correctly based on data captured by one or more sensors in the glasses. Data is captured periodically and compared to a baseline set of data. If a deviation is detected, then the appropriate lens is turned “ON” to shade the aligned eye, thereby forcing the misaligned eye to properly align itself.

Optical device for restoring eyesight

LIGHT FILTER FOR REPAIRING THE RETINA

The detailed characteristics of the red fluorescence of the human lens—that occurs at the seventh decade of life—is recognized as an example of evolutionary photobiomodulation for repair of the retina, and then used as a paradigm for extending current parametric values for reproducible photobiomodulation. The new photobiomodulation parameters involve relative intensities for wavelength bands within the range of 600 nm to 900 nm.
