11573433 · 2023-02-07 · ·

Apparatuses, systems and methods for providing improved ophthalmic lenses, particularly intraocular lenses (IOLs), include features for reducing dysphotopsia effects, such as haloes and glare, in extended range of vision lenses. Exemplary ophthalmic lenses can include a central zone with a first set of three echelettes arranged around the optical axis, the first set having a profile in r-squared space. An intermediate zone includes a second set of three echelettes arranged around the optical axis, the second set having a profile in r-squared space that is different than the profile of the first set. A peripheral zone includes a third set of three echelettes arranged around the optical axis, the third set having a profile in r-squared space that is different than the profile of the first set and the profile of the second set.

LENS PROVIDING BOTH POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE DIFFRACTION

A lens device comprises a base lens formed with a plurality of diffractive zones, each having a negative diffractive subzone and a positive diffractive subzone. The negative and the positive diffractive subzones are optionally and preferably arranged alternately. Each diffractive subzone typically has a constant-sign curvature along a radial direction of the base lens.

Devices, Systems and/or Methods for Myopia Control

The present disclosure is directed generally to a lens that provides a stop signal to a myopic eye, over a substantial portion of the spectacle lens that the viewer is using. The present disclosure is directed to devices, methods and/or systems of imposing a stop signal to eye growth, using a spectacle lens in conjunction with a micro lenslet array. The present disclosure is also directed to devices, methods and/or systems of modifying incoming light through spectacle lenses that utilizes chromatic cues to decelerate the rate of myopia progression. The present disclosure is directed to devices, methods and/or systems of imposing a stop signal to eye growth, using a spectacle lens in conjunction with a refractive optical element and/or diffractive optical element that offer conflicting or contradictory optical signals at a wavelength between 510 nm and 610 nm.

Ophthalmic Lens With Depth-Modulated Optical Structures and Methods of Forming

Subsurface optical elements are formed within an ophthalmic lens using modulation of depth to which refractive index change inducing laser pulses are focused within the ophthalmic lens. A system for forming one or more subsurface optical structures within an ophthalmic lens comprises a control unit operatively coupled with a laser pulse source and a focusing assembly. The control unit is configured to control operation of the focusing assembly to sequentially focus each of the sequence of laser pulses onto a respective sub-volume of a sequence of sub-volumes of the ophthalmic lens. The sub-volumes of the sequence of sub-volumes have modulated depths within the ophthalmic lens and varying transverse locations within the ophthalmic lens.

Various embodiments of the present invention provide for systems and apparatus directed toward using a contact lens and deflection optics to process display information and non-display information. In one embodiment of the invention, a display panel assembly is provided, comprising: a transparent substrate that permits light to pass through substantially undistorted; a reflector disposed on the transparent substrate; and a display panel aimed toward the reflector and substantially away from a human visual system, wherein the reflector reflects light emitted from the display panel toward the human visual system. The reflector may comprise a narrow band reflector or a polarization reflector.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MEASURING VISUAL ACUITY BY USING FOCUS-TUNABLE LENS

Provided are an apparatus and method for measuring a visual acuity (VA) by using a focus-tunable lens. The apparatus includes a display engine, an image combiner, a focus-tunable lens provided on a path of the light guided by the image combiner, an input device, and a processor configured to control the focus-tunable lens to assign different first and second optical powers to first and second lens regions, respectively, on a lens surface of the focus-tunable lens, control the display engine to display a VA measuring image through first and second output regions of the image combiner, control the input device to receive a user's input with respect to the VA measuring image, specify one optical power of the first and second optical powers based on the user's input, and determine a VA of a user based on the specified optical power.

Ophthalmic Lenses and Methods for Correcting, Slowing, Reducing, and/or Controlling the Progression of Myopia

An ophthalmic lens comprising a base lens configured to direct light to a first image plane; and a plurality of light modulating cells. One or more of the plurality of light modulating cells refract light to a second image plane different from the first image plane and/or one or more of a plurality of light modulating cells refract light to a third image plane different from the first and second image planes, In some embodiments, at least one of the plurality of light modulating cells is configured to refract light to at least two (e.g., 2, 3, or 4) image planes, different from the first image plane.
