AUGMENTED REALITY SYSTEMS AND METHODS WITH VARIABLE FOCUS LENS ELEMENTS
An augmented reality display system includes a pair of variable focus lens elements that sandwich a waveguide stack. One of the lens elements is positioned between the waveguide stack and a user's eye to correct for refractive errors in the focusing of light projected from the waveguide stack to that eye. The lens elements may also be configured to provide appropriate optical power to place displayed virtual content on a desired depth plane. The other lens element is between the ambient environment and the waveguide stack, and is configured to provide optical power to compensate for aberrations in the transmission of ambient light through the waveguide stack and the lens element closest to the eye. In addition, an eye-tracking system monitors the vergence of the user's eyes and automatically and continuously adjusts the optical powers of the pair of lens elements based on the determined vergence of those eyes.
Glass laminated articles and layered articles
Laminated articles and layered articles, for example, low alkali glass laminated articles and layered articles useful for, for example, electrochromic devices are described.
LOW HAZE SWITCHABLE WINDOW
A switchable window includes an electro-optical layer of or including an anisotropic gel of polymer stabilized highly chiral liquid crystal, for example, blue phase liquid crystal, encapsulated in, for example, a mesogenic polymer inclusive shell, that forms a self-assembled, three-dimensional photonic crystal that remains electro-optically switchable under a moderate applied voltage (e.g., electric field). The liquid crystal (LC) arrangement may be achieved via a polymer assembled blue phase liquid crystal system having a substantially continuous polymer structure case surrounding well-defined discrete bodies of liquid crystal material arranged in a cellular manner These assembled structures globally connect to form a matrix. This provides for reduction of angular birefringence of highly chiral LC systems, which advantageously reduces haze in applications such as switchable windows.
Electrochromic device including lithium-rich anti-perovskite material
An electrochromic (EC) device and method, the EC device including: an optically transparent first substrate; a working electrode disposed on the first substrate and including electrochromic nanoparticles and a flux material having a melting point ranging from about 25° C. to about 500° C.; and an electrolyte disposed on the working electrode. The flux material is configured to prevent or reduce sintering of the nanoparticles at a temperature of up to about 700° C.
MONOLITHIC GLASS RING AND METHOD FOR OPTICAL CURRENT MEASUREMENTS
A glass ring for current measurements includes a glass body, which can be disposed around an electrical conductor and has a light entry surface and a light exit surface. The glass ring allows light which enters the glass body through the light entry surface to circulate completely around the conductor in the glass body by reflection on external sides or outer faces of the glass body, the light exiting from the glass body on the light exit surface. The glass ring is formed of a monolithic glass body. A method for optical current measurement includes using a current flow in an electrical conductor to generate an electromagnetic field around the conductor, by which a polarization of a light beam in the glass ring around the conductor, in particular with a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the conductor, is changed as the light beam circulates around the conductor.
NON-ALKALI GLASS
Provided is a non-alkali glass having a strain point of 680° C. or higher, having an average thermal expansion coefficient of from 30×10.sup.−7/° C. to 45×10.sup.−7/° C. at from 50° C. to 350° C., containing, indicated by mass % on the basis of oxides: SiO.sub.2: 54% to 66%, Al.sub.2O.sub.3: 10% to 27%, B.sub.2O.sub.3: 0.2% to 5.5%, MgO: 0% to 10%, CaO: 0% to 15%, SrO: 0% to 15%, BaO: 0% to 15%, and MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO: 8% to 25%, containing 600 mass ppm or less of Na.sub.2O, and satisfying a mass ratio (Na.sub.2O/B.sub.2O.sub.3) between Na.sub.2O and B.sub.2O.sub.3 being from 0.001 to 0.3.
Substrate sealing structure body, and, display device and production method therefor
In the present embodiment, a sealing agent (50) sealing two substates contains a low melting-point glass material and is adhered to each of a first substrate (10) and a second substrate (20), a barrier rib (60), which is formed in such a manner as to surround the outer periphery of an electronic element (30), is disposed between the sealing agent (50) and the electronic element (30), and between the first substrate (10) and the second substrate (20), and the sealing agent (50) is spaced apart from the barrier rib (60). As a result, a deterioration of the electronic element, caused by the heat produced when sealing, may be prevented while the electronic element formed between the two substrates is protected from moisture and oxygen.

The resins include a fluoropolymer in weight percentage 5%-60%, a difunctional diluent in weight percentage 0-30%, a monofunctional diluent in weight percentage 0-40%, a urethane diacrylate or functionalized nanoscale material, e.g., a functionalized urethane material, in weight percentage 5-50%, a photoinitiator in weight percentage 0.5-5%, and a surfactant in weight percentage less than 0.5%. The difunctional diluent may be Hexanediol Diacrylate, and the monofunctional diluent may be a monofunctional hydrocarbon.
