An adhesive composition for a polarizing plate is adapted to exhibit a variation in relaxation modulus of an adhesive layer in a range of 75% to 95% before and after leaving the same at a temperature of −20° C. to 0° C. for 4 hours, such that it is possible to remarkably improve thermal-shock durability of the polarizing plate, and suppress a damage of the polarizing plate in a thermal-shock durability test, while maintaining excellent adhesiveness.

In addition, the display device may obtain thinner thickness, thereby exhibiting excellent reliability.

The plastic frame has an attachment surface on the top surface of the plastic frame. The attachment surface includes a first attachment sub-surface and a second attachment sub-surface. The first attachment sub-surface is parallel with a light-exiting surface; the second attachment sub-surface is connected to an end of the first attachment sub-surface, and is at a predetermined angle in relation to a plane on which the first attachment sub-surface is disposed. A portion of the square-shaped adhesive tape that may extend outwardly from an edge of the plastic frame can be attached to a transitional surface to avoid extending out of the plastic frame.

According to one embodiment, a display device includes a liquid crystal panel including a pair of substrates opposed to each other, a liquid crystal layer between the substrates, and a first electrode portion on at least one of the substrates, a backlight device including an optical member and a second electrode portion opposed to the first electrode portion, and an adhesive member between the liquid crystal panel and the backlight device to fix the backlight device to the liquid crystal panel. The adhesive member includes a first base, adhesive layers on both surfaces of the first base, a second base on the first base via one of the adhesive layers, and an adhesive layer on the second base.
