The mirror display device comprises: an optical switch array (101) comprising multiple optical switches, the optical switches being used for obtaining, in a first state, a first light beam based on incident light; a reflection layer (102) arranged on one side of the optical switch array (101) and used for receiving and reflecting the first light beam incident to the reflection layer (102); and a control module (103) for determining a reflection region and a non-reflection region, controlling the optical switch corresponding to the reflection region to be in the first state, and controlling the optical switch corresponding to the non-reflection region to be in a second state that is different from the first state.
Transparent Display Panel and Control Method and Apparatus Therefor, Display Apparatus, and Display System
A transparent display panel and a control method and apparatus therefor, a display system, and a computer-readable storage medium. The transparent display panel includes: a liquid crystal panel (11), and a transflective optical film layer (12) disposed on one side of the liquid crystal panel (11), wherein a plurality of microstructures (31) for scattering incident light rays are provided in the transflective optical film layer (12), in order to present a projected image. The transparency level of the transparent display panel is determined by acquiring the ambient light intensity of the transparent display panel or a grayscale average of a projected image at each first region, and the light transmittance level of the liquid crystal panel is adjusted according to the transparency level, thereby improving the projection display effect.
One-way glass with switching modes
A one-way glass with switching modes includes an absorbing layer located on a weak light side, a reflecting layer located on an intense light side, and a converting layer stacked between the absorbing layer and the reflecting layer. The absorbing layer absorbs first polarized light and allows second polarized light to pass through. The reflecting layer reflects the first polarized light and allows the second polarized light to pass through. Unpolarized light incident from the weak light side or from the intense light side is respectively converted into the polarized light. During the process of gradually adjusting the converting layer from a twisted state to a vertical state, rotated angles of polarization directions of the first polarized light and the second polarized light gradually decrease.
TRANSFLECTIVE, PCM-BASED DISPLAY DEVICE
The invention is notably directed to a transflective display device. The device comprises a set of pixels, wherein each of the pixels comprises a portion of bi-stable, phase change material, hereafter a PCM portion, having at least two reversibly switchable states, in which it has two different values of refractive index and/or optical absorption. The device further comprises one or more spacers, optically transmissive, and extending under PCM portions of the set of pixels. One or more reflectors extend under the one or more spacers. An energization structure is in thermal or electrical communication with the PCM portions, via the one or more spacers. Moreover, a display controller is configured to selectively energize, via the energization structure, PCM portions of the pixels, so as to reversibly switch a state of a PCM portion of any of the pixels from one of its reversibly switchable states to the other. A backlight unit is furthermore configured, in the device, to allow illumination of the PCM portions through the one or more spacers. The backlight unit is controlled by a backlight unit controller, which is configured for modulating one or more physical properties of light emitted from the backlight unit. The invention is further directed to related devices and methods of operation.
