Self-isolated nanoscale laser
Self-isolated lasers are provided by using a chiral metasurface in combination with a spin-selective gain medium and symmetry-breaking (i.e., not linearly polarized) optical pumping. In preferred embodiments the chiral metasurface is resonant, thereby proving an integrated optical resonator to support lasing. The chiral metasurface can be the spin-selective gain medium, or it can be formed on a surface of the spin-selective gain medium, or it can be distinct from the spin-selective gain medium.

The present disclosure provides a gray scale setting method, a display substrate and a display apparatus, and relates to the field of display technology. The gray scale setting method of the present disclosure applied to a display substrate. The display substrate has a display area and a non-display area. The display substrate includes an edge pixel on a boundary between the display area and the non-display area, and the edge pixel includes a first sub-area pixel within the display area and a second sub-area pixel within the non-display area. The method includes: acquiring an area ratio of the first sub-area relative to the edge pixel; determining a relative transmittance of the edge pixel according to the area ratio of the first sub-area relative to the edge pixel; and determining a display gray scale for the edge pixel according to the determined relative transmittance.

A display device according to an embodiment of the present inventive concept includes: a substrate including a first region and a second region; and a plurality of pixels disposed on the substrate, wherein the plurality of pixels each include a first data line and a second data line overlapping a pixel electrode, a first capacitance between the first data line and the pixel electrode is smaller than a second capacitance between the second data line and the pixel electrode in a pixel disposed in the first region, and the first capacitance between the first data line and the pixel electrode is larger than the second capacitance between the second data line and a pixel electrode in the pixel disposed in the second region.

The present disclosure relates to a display panel. The display panel includes: a light guide member, a light extraction member and a modulation member sequentially arranged along a first direction; and wherein the light extraction member is configured to extract light propagating within the light guide member in a collimated manner to one side of the light extraction member away from the light guide member, and the modulation member is configured to modulate a reflectance and transmittance of the light extracted in a collimated manner by the light extraction member within the modulation member.

The present invention provides a liquid crystal display panel and an alignment method of the liquid crystal display panel. By inputting a voltage equal to a pixel voltage into data black-matrix less (DBS) electrodes at a gray scale 255, rotation of liquid crystals at the DBS electrodes can be consistent with rotation of liquid crystals at the pixel electrodes during an alignment process. Therefore, the present invention improves brightness at the DBS electrodes of the liquid crystal display panel at the gray scale 255, and increases light transmittance of the liquid crystal display panel.
