Medical shoe having multi-density overmolding
A medical shoe having an overmolding layer with a non-uniform density is provided. The medical shoe may include a midsole configured to support a foot, and a frame surrounding the midsole. The midsole may include a foot receiving portion forming a substantially planar surface for supporting the foot and a frame receiving portion opposite the foot receiving portion. The frame may include an overmolding layer extending from a side of the frame opposite the midsole so as to form a ground contacting surface. The overmolding layer may have a non-uniform density. The sole assembly may be secured to the frame by a self-locking fit between the sole assembly and the frame.
AIRBAG FOR ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR
A bladder for an article of footwear includes a chamber having (i) an arcuate segment extending from a first transition to a second transition, (ii) a first plurality of elongate segments extending in a first direction from the first transition to a first terminal end, and (iii) a second plurality of elongate segments spaced apart from the first plurality of elongate segments and extending in the first direction from the second transition to a second terminal end. The bladder also includes a web area connecting the arcuate segment, the first plurality of elongate segments, and the second plurality of elongate segments and extending to a terminal edge spaced apart from each of the first terminal end and the second terminal end.
AIRBAG FOR ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR
A sole structure for an article of footwear having a heel region, a mid-foot region, a forefoot region, an interior region, and a peripheral region. The sole structure including a bladder having a chamber including an arcuate segment extending around the heel region, a first segment extending along the peripheral region on a medial side of the sole structure from the arcuate segment to a first terminal end in the forefoot region, and a second segment spaced apart from the first segment across a width of the sole structure and extending along the peripheral region on a lateral side of the sole structure from the arcuate segment to a second terminal end in the forefoot region. A peripheral outsole extends along the chamber and a first cushion is disposed between the first segment and the second segment and is exposed through an opening of the peripheral outsole.

CUSTOM MULTI-LAYERED ORTHOTIC/ORTHOSIS, AND METHOD FOR FORMING
A multilayer orthotic/orthosis has a cover layer, a shell layer and a posting layer. The shell layer is formed of a thermoplastic having a moldable temperature. The rigidity of the shell layer, and in particular the rigidity of the thermoplastic is chosen to be of a magnitude to support the portion of the individual at temperatures below the moldable temperature. The shell layer, preferably the thermoplastic, has a flexibility above the moldable temperature to mold the shell layer into a shape to support the portion of the individual. The shell layer has two layers of woven polyester fibers (scrim) on the top and bottom. The scrim gives the plastic strength and prevents it from stretching excessively when molding. These unique properties make the material well suited for stacking multiple layers without having excessive bulking of material top lines. Both sides of the shell layer are coated with a layer of hot melt cement/glue/adhesive for easy attachment of various layers or other materials. One side of the shell layer is connected to one side of the cover layer. A posting layer is arranged on a side of the shell layer diametrically opposite the cover layer, and provides support for the orthotic/orthosis in order to prevent rocking, especially when the orthotic/orthosis is for the foot of the individual.
DIRECT BOTTOMED ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR WITH AN INSERT
An article of footwear has an upper that is direct attached with the sole. The direct attach sole has an insert, such as an airbag, that forms a portion of a sidewall. The insert is externally visible and forms at least a portion of an external sidewall of the sole. The insert is formed into the direct attach sole by having the insert or a mask temporarily joined with the insert contact a sidewall molding surface of a mold used in the direct attach operation such that the insert results in forming a visible element of the direct attached sole.
Contoured support shoe insole
An insole having a top sheet and a base layer with three pieces that include a base layer, a forefoot pad made of a clear TPR gel and a mid-foot to heel cushion made of a supersoft polyurethane. The midfoot/heel surface has a raised arch with criss-crossing longitudinal curvilinear indentations, a flattened midfoot area with a metatarsal midfoot tear-drop raised area, and a heel cup that surrounds the exterior back of the heel. A heel pod opening goes through the entirety of the thickness of base layer of the insole body and a heel pad is affixed to the bottom surface of the base layer being made of a clear TPR gel or blown EVA. There is also a supersoft heel dome and a metatarsal raised dome on the top (foot contact) surface of the insole which would be directly above the heel pod and the metatarsal midfoot area, respectively.
