Foot movement damping device and shoe for damping a foot movement via the ankle joint
A foot movement damper for damping a foot movement via the ankle joint, comprising a support arrangement for bearing on a lower leg and a holder arrangement for holding a foot, wherein a damping arrangement with at least one damping element is provided for damping a relative movement between the support arrangement and the holder arrangement, wherein the damping arrangement has a support binding for binding to the support arrangement and a holder binding for binding to the holder arrangement; and wherein the support arrangement has at least one bearing region and at least one bearing fixture, wherein the support arrangement can bear with the at least one bearing region over the malleolus of the ankle joint, and wherein the at least one bearing fixture is designed to fix the position of the at least one bearing region in a state when applied to the lower leg.
Orthopedic walking boot having a mechanically adjustable ramp insert
An orthopedic walking boot includes a housing configured to encompass at least a user's foot, a mechanically adjustable ramp insert including a ramp surface and disposed in the housing, an adjusting mechanism configured to adjust an elevation angle of the ramp surface, and a mechanically adjustable lift configured to cause the mechanically adjustable ramp insert to descend within the housing as the ramp surface is elevated such that vertical displacement of the user's foot caused by elevation of the ramp surface is substantially attenuated. Related methods are also provided.

ANKLE FOOT ORTHOSES AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING
Ankle foot orthoses (AFO) and methods of customizing an AFO. In one embodiment, the AFO includes a carbon fiber strut that includes a carbon fiber foot plate; a formable layer that is coupled with the carbon fiber foot plate, the formable layer being formable from an initial shape to a formed shape; an inner boot, where the formable layer being formed into the formed shape is configured to be formed around geometry of portions of the inner boot; and a moldable calf piece that is configured to be attached to the carbon fiber strut. The AFO may also include a strapping system that is coupled between the moldable calf piece and the inner boot. Methods of manufacturing and customizing the aforementioned AFO are also disclosed.
Ankle brace
An ankle brace for treating or preventing a high ankle sprain is disclosed. The ankle brace includes a body configured to be worn over an ankle. A tightening mechanism is attached to the body and configured to tighten the body around a wearer's lower leg to prevent distal ends of the tibia and fibula from separating. A torsion strap is attached to the body and configured to wrap from a fifth metatarsal to a medial malleolus to limit external rotation of the foot. The ankle brace can include lateral and medial straps for limiting eversion and inversion of the foot. The ankle brace can include heat moldable lateral and medial support plates.
FOOTGEAR BARRIER AND FOOT COVERING INCORPORATING A FOOTGEAR BARRIER
A footgear barrier and a foot covering incorporating a footgear barrier. The footgear barrier is sized and shaped to be placed around a user's ankle and over the footgear, such as an athletic shoe, to block the gaps between the user's ankle and the footwear and reduce the amount of debris that may pass through the gaps. The footgear barrier may be incorporated within a foot cover such as a sock, such that the barrier is secured within an upper portion of the sock.
Athletic footwear artificial ligament device and apparatus
An athletic footwear artificial ligament device includes a flexible band securable around a lower leg above an ankle of a foot of a wearer, a ring disposable adjacent an outer side of the ankle spaced below the flexible band, and a plurality of artificial ligaments coupled to and arrayed about the ring. An upper artificial ligament is attached to the flexible band and extends downward to the ring. A lower artificial ligament is attachable to an upper of the athletic shoe, adjacent to the sole and above the heel, and extends upward to the ring. A forward artificial ligament is attachable to the athletic shoe upper forwardly of the ring, above the sole and spaced forwardly from the heel, and extends rearward to the ring such that the artificial ligaments perform as a second set of ligaments providing sprain protection of the ankle of the foot of the wearer.
