An article of footwear includes an upper and a sole structure coupled with the upper. The sole structure includes a midsole that is coupled to the upper along an upper surface of the midsole and to an outsole along a lower surface that is opposite the upper surface. Both the upper surface and the lower surface are curved along a width of the sole structure to curve away from the upper and toward the outsole within a forefoot region, thus forming a rounded surface that extends throughout the forefoot region. A stiffening member is coupled to the midsole and extends from a heel end toward a toe end. The stiffening member includes a base disposed within at least a midfoot region and a plurality of tines that extend into the forefoot region from the base.

A sole structure for an article of footwear includes a cushioning element having a top surface, a bottom surface formed on an opposite side of the cushioning element from the top surface, a ramp surface spaced apart from the bottom surface in a heel region of the cushioning element, a heel pocket extending through the cushioning element from the top surface to the ramp surface, and a plurality of pillars extending from the ramp surface and surrounding the pocket. The sole structure additionally includes a plurality of cushioning particles disposed within the pocket, an outsole attached to the cushioning element and enclosing a first end of the pocket, and an upper barrier layer attached to the top surface of the cushioning element and covering a second end of the pocket.

A sole structure for an article of footwear having an upper includes a first cushioning member disposed in a heel region of the sole structure and a second cushioning member disposed in a forefoot region of the sole structure. The second cushioning member is spaced apart from the first cushioning member by a gap that extends between the first cushioning member and the second cushioning member. A sole plate extends across the gap between the first cushioning member and the second cushioning member.

A sole reference posture is determined such that a straight reference line connects a toe-tip position and a rearmost end position of a sole top surface, a path length measured along the sole top surface from the origin of the rearmost end position to the toe-tip position is L, an intersection point of a sole bottom surface and a line crossing a position of 0.45×L and orthogonal to the reference line is position C, and the sole is in contact with the ground at position C. In the reference posture, the sole bottom surface is separated from the ground at a heel portion and a toe portion, and an inequality θ≥5 is satisfied, wherein θ is an angle between a straight line connecting a heel central position of 0.15×L with a metatarsophalangeal joints position of 0.68×L and the ground.

Sole structure for article of footwear

A sole structure for an article of footwear includes an outer fabric layer and an inner chassis that is more rigid than the fabric layer. The fabric layer includes a plurality of fabric protrusions and the inner chassis includes a plurality of chassis protrusions that correspond to the fabric protrusions. Both the fabric protrusions and the chassis protrusions extend into cleat members of the sole structure.

Footwear plate

A plate for an article of footwear includes a substrate, a first strand portion attached to the substrate via first stitching, and a second strand portion disposed on the first layer. The first strand portion includes first segments that each extend between two different locations along the substrate to form a first layer on the substrate. The second strand portion includes second segments that each extend between two different locations along the substrate to form a second layer on the first layer.

Article of Footwear Comprising a Sole Member with Aperture Patterns

An article of footwear includes an upper and a sole structure with a sole member. The sole member can be manufactured using a customized cushioning sole system. A user's foot morphology and/or preferences may be used to design the sole member. The sole member can include a set of pinpoint apertures that are formed along the outer surface of the sole member to form at least a first distribution of apertures associated with a first density and a second distribution of apertures associated with a second density, wherein the first density is greater than the second density.

A sole structure for an article of footwear having an upper includes an outsole having a ground engaging surface and a midsole member disposed between the outsole and the upper. The midsole member has a pocket extending from a heel region to a forefoot region and a sole plate disposed within the pocket. The sole plate extends from the heel region into the forefoot region. In the heel region, the sole structure is shaped to define an entry region that is configured to increase contact at the ground engaging surface during a heel strike. The entry region defines an angled portion that is angled at an entry angle relative to a flat ground surface. The midsole member is a supercritical foam.

A sole structure for an article of footwear comprises a midsole system with a plurality of cushioning units, each having multiple cushioning layers configured to work together as a system to absorb a compressive load, such as a dynamic compressive load due to impact with the ground, in stages of progressive cushioning according to the relative stiffness values of the layers. Various midsole systems disclosed include isolated cushioning units, linked cushioning units, sole layers having stanchions interfacing with the midsole system, midsole systems with sole layers having keyed and unkeyed portions overlying a bladder, and midsole systems with vertically-stacked cushioning units disposed in inverted relationship to one another.
