Sole structure for an article of footwear having a nonlinear bending stiffness
A sole structure for an article of footwear comprises a first sole plate that includes a forefoot region, a foot-receiving surface, and a lower surface opposite the foot-receiving surface. The first sole plate has a plurality of slots including a first slot, and a second slot rearward of the first slot. The plurality of slots is disposed in the forefoot region and extends generally transversely and entirely through the first sole plate from the foot-receiving surface to the lower surface. The sole structure includes at least one rib, referred to as a first rib, disposed between the first slot and the second slot. The sole structure also includes a second sole plate secured to the lower surface of the first sole plate both forward of the plurality of slots and rearward of the plurality of slots. The second sole plate is detached from the first rib.
Sole Structure For Article of Footwear
A sole structure for an article of footwear is provided. The sole structure includes a midsole, a cushion disposed in the midsole and including an inner portion, and an outsole including a first surface defining a ground-contacting surface and an upper surface disposed on an opposite side of the outsole than the ground-contacting surface and opposing the cushion, the outsole including a protrusion that extends in a direction away from the midsole to a greater extent than any other portion of the outsole and being aligned with the inner portion.
Foam compositions and uses thereof
Components for articles of footwear and athletic equipment are provided including a foam. A variety of foams and foam components and compositions for forming the foams are provided. In some aspects, the foams and components including the foams can have exceptionally high energy return while also having improved durability and softness. In particular, midsoles including the foams are provided for use in an article of footwear. Methods of making the compositions and foams are provided, as well as methods of making an article of footwear including one of the foam components. In some aspects, the foams and foam components can be made by injection molding or injection molding followed by compression molding.
ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING AN ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR
An article of footwear includes a sole structure including a polymeric bladder element enclosing a fluid-filled interior cavity. The bladder element has a surface with a groove that extends generally parallel with a transverse edge from a lateral side to a medial side, and has a reduced thickness at the groove. A first length along a longitudinal midline of the bladder element from a longitudinal extremity of the bladder element to the groove corresponds with a first footwear size, and a second length along the longitudinal midline of the bladder element from the longitudinal extremity to the transverse edge corresponds with a second footwear size larger than the first footwear size. The sole structure is used in a method of manufacturing an article of footwear.
Sole structure for article of footwear
An article of footwear includes a sole structure having a chassis, an outsole, and a cushioning element. The chassis extending from an anterior end to a posterior end and includes a dock formed between the anterior end and the posterior end. The outsole extends from a first end removably coupled to the anterior end of the chassis to a second end removably coupled to the posterior end of the chassis. The cushioning element is disposed between the chassis and the outsole and includes a first portion removably engaged with the dock of the chassis. The sole structure may include a carriage removably disposed between the chassis and the outsole adjacent to the cushioning element. The carriage includes an upper frame receiving and surrounding the dock and a lower frame receiving and surrounding a portion of the outsole.
Footwear with stabilizing sole
A footwear component that includes a sole including a recessed area and a support member positioned in the recessed area. The support member includes a main support, a front support that extends at least partially over a front end of the main support, and a rear support that extends at least partially below a rear end of the main support. The front support of the support member moves toward the main support when pressure is applied to the front support and moves away from the main support when pressure is released from the front support. Similarly, the rear support of the support member moves toward the main support when pressure is applied to the rear support and moves away from the main support when pressure is released from the rear support.
Articulated Sole Structure with Sipes Forming Hexagonal Sole Elements
A footwear sole structure may include a plurality of discrete hexagonally-shaped sole elements defined by a plurality of sipes. The sipes may include a plurality of sipes that extend in a transverse direction across the sole structure and a plurality of sipes that extend in an oblique direction relative to the transverse sipes. A plurality of sipes may also subdivide the hexagonally-shaped sole elements into one or more diamond-shaped sole element portions. The sole structure may include additional features such as non-hexagonal sole elements and lugs distributed across a bottom surface of the sole structure.
Sole Including Lateral and Medial Plate Members
An article of footwear is provided and includes a sole having a forefoot portion, a heel portion, a medial side and a lateral side. A first plate member is positioned on the medial side of the sole, where the first plate member has a first length, and a second plate member is positioned on the lateral side of the sole, where the second plate member has a second length. The first length of the first plate member is greater than or equal to the second length of the second plate member.
SOLE STRUCTURE WITH MIDSOLE PROTRUSIONS AND ARCED PROFILE FOR FORWARD MOMENTUM
A footwear sole structure includes a midsole having a ground-facing surface with a forefoot region, a midfoot region, and a heel region. The midsole defines downwardly-extending protrusions at the ground-facing surface distributed over the midfoot region and the heel region, each of the downwardly-extending protrusions having a convex outer surface. A height of the midsole is greatest at the midfoot region. The sole structure may also include an outsole covering at least a portion of the ground-facing surface of the midsole, and a height of the sole structure may be greatest at the midfoot region.
ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR WITH FIRST AND SECOND OUTSOLE COMPONENTS AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING AN ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR
A sole structure for an article of footwear comprises a midsole including a polymeric bladder element enclosing a fluid-filled interior cavity, a first outsole component secured to a bottom surface and to a side surface of the polymeric bladder element, and a second outsole component. The first outsole component includes a first base, and a wall integral with the first base. The second outsole component includes a second base secured to the first base, and a wall integral with the second base and secured to the outer surface of the wall of the first outsole component. A method of manufacturing the article of footwear includes thermoforming the bladder element and the first outsole component, and securing the second outsole component to the first outsole component.
