The invention relates to an insole (100) for shoes with a base material, which comprises a sole surface (102) facing the shoe and an opposite foot surface facing the foot, wherein a coating (112) is provided on the sole surface (102), which provides the sole surface (102) of the insole (100) with an increased frictional force with respect to the uncoated sole surface (102), characterised in that the coating (112) is formed from a plurality of individual patterns (120) formed from coating lines (114), which are discrete from one another and are arranged in such a way that they cannot be formed by one or more continuous coating lines (114) miming continuously from a first side (122a) of the sole surface (102) to an opposite second side (122b) of the sole surface (102).

Injection molded shoe frame and method
Multiple shoe types are made from a plurality of generic molded base frames including a midsole and at least one upper portion integrally molded together. A first set of upper components is provided for forming a first shoe type secured to a first portion of the base frames and a second set of upper components is provided for forming a second shoe type secured to a second portion of the base frames. The upper portion that is integrally molded with the midsole may be a forefoot panel or a quarter. The various types formed from the generic frame include sneakers, backless shoes, slip-ons, skate shoes and boots. The generic unitary molded frame construction substantially reduces the cost of manufacture.

CONSTRUCTION OF A VARIABLE FRICTION SHOE
According to one aspect, a variable friction shoe sole includes a midsole body, one or more compressible portions comprised of a compressible material, one or more low-friction portions vertically aligned with the one or more compressible portions, and one or more intermediate layers located between the one or more low-friction portions and the one or more compressible portions. The one or more low-friction portions are prominent of the midsole body when vertical ground reaction forces (GRFs) applied to the variable friction shoe sole are low, and wherein an increase in GRFs compresses the one or more compressible portions and causes the one or more low-friction portions to retract inwards.
