Image rotation in image forming apparatus based on determination of power consumption by heater elements
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming device, a heater, and a control circuit. The control circuit is configured to generate first energization data based on at least part of first raster image data representing a first image to be formed on a first page, and then compress the first raster image data into first compressed image data. The control circuit is also configured to generate second energization data based on at least part of second raster image data representing a second image to be formed on a second page, and then compress the second raster image data into second compressed image data. The control circuit is configured to further determine whether rotation of the second image by a predetermined degree will lower power consumption based on a comparison of the first energization data to the second energization data.
Image forming device and control method
An image forming device includes a printer, a display, and a controller. The printer forms a desired image indicated by image data on a sheet. The display displays the desired image. The controller receives a first designation, by a user, of a designation region of the desired image displayed on the display. The controller receives a second designation, by the user, of a superimposition position at which an abnormality region containing an abnormality is superimposed on the desired image. The controller transmits user designation information indicating the designation region and the superimposition position to an external device.

2-D image based correction of thermal ghosting in a digital printer
An image based correction system compensates for the image quality artifacts induced by thermal ghosting. With thermal ghosting directly tied to previous image content, a feed forward control system predicts the thermal ghosting artifact based on the images previous printed and generates an open loop, 2-D correction to the gray-level image that mitigates the undesirable ghosting artifacts. For example, the correction system compensates for the thermal ghosting by making the current digital image “lighter” in areas that will be imaged onto warmer blanket regions, thereby cancelling out TRC differences between different temperature regions.

Image forming apparatus
In an image forming apparatus, a print data acquiring unit acquires variable-data-printing print data that includes common document data and insert data. The common document data includes a common part common to plural printed matters. The insert data is for a variable part individually set for each of the plural printed matters. The common document data includes one or plural identifiers; the identifier indicates the variable part, and the insert data includes one or plural values corresponding to the identifier. The variable-data-printing processing unit causes a printing device to perform variable data printing on the basis of print data obtained by replacing the identifier in the common document data with the value. In addition, the variable-data-printing processing unit determines a print sheet corresponding to the value used in the replacement, and causes the printing device to perform the variable data printing using the determined print sheet.
Image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming section, a receiving section, and a controller. The image forming section forms a plurality of images on a plurality of sheets. The receiving section receives a print job including a layout format indicating a layout of the images on the sheets. The controller controls the image forming section based on the print job. Each of the images indicates an image expressed by image data of a single page. The print job includes an instruction to form the images on the sheets according to a plurality of mutually different layout formats.
