The transport unit is configured to transport a print medium. The image forming unit is configured to form a toner image on the print medium by a first toner. The first pressurizing member is configured to form a fixing nip for fixing with the heating member. The second pressurizing member is configured to form a decolorizing nip for decolorizing with the heating member. The processor is configured to control the heating member to the first temperature, allows the print medium on which the toner image is formed by the first toner to pass through the fixing nip, and allows the print medium on which an image is formed by a second toner, to pass through the decolorizing nip.

An image forming apparatus according to one embodiment includes a transport unit, an image forming unit, a heating member, a first pressurizing member, a second pressurizing member, and a processor. The transport unit is configured to transport a print medium. The image forming unit is configured to form a toner image on the print medium by a first toner. The processor is configured to control the heating member to the first temperature, allows the print medium on which the toner image is formed by the first toner to pass through the fixing nip, and allows the print medium on which an image is formed by a second toner, to pass through the decolorizing nip.

An image forming apparatus, in which an image forming method is performed, includes an image forming device to form an image on a recording medium, a reading device to scan the recording medium having a mark and generate a scanned image, and circuitry to calculate a correction value to adjust a position of the image to be formed on the recording medium, based on the scanned image. The circuitry calculates the correction value to adjust a position of an image to be formed on a second face of the recording medium based on a first scanned image generated from a first face of the recording medium, within a period from when the first scanned image is generated from the first face to when the image starts to be formed on the second face.

An image forming apparatus, in which an image forming method is performed, includes an image forming device to form an image on a recording medium, a reading device to scan the recording medium having a mark and generate a scanned image, and circuitry to calculate a correction value to adjust a position of the image to be formed on the recording medium, based on the scanned image. The circuitry calculates the correction value to adjust a position of an image to be formed on a second face of the recording medium based on a first scanned image generated from a first face of the recording medium, within a period from when the first scanned image is generated from the first face to when the image starts to be formed on the second face.

A simulation of behavior of a recording medium, which moves a conveyance path of an image forming apparatus, is performed. A transport error of the recoding medium is obtained based on a result of the simulation, and the transport error indicates a deviation between an orientation of the recording medium moving the conveyance path in an ideal transport state in which there is no disturbance, and a simulated orientation of the recording medium. A geometric characteristic screen is generated to present the obtained transport error.

An image forming apparatus according to the present embodiment comprises: a dither processing unit that applies a dither matrix to an image; an exposure unit that exposes an photosensitive drum to form an electrostatic latent image, based on the image to which the dither matrix has been applied; a development unit that develops, using a developing material on a developing roller, the formed electrostatic latent image; and a control unit that, based on a print setting change instruction by a user, increases a circumferential speed of the developing roller relative to the circumferential speed of the photosensitive drum and decreases a screen ruling of the dither matrix to be applied by the dither processing unit.
