FOOTWEAR UPPER INCLUDING VARIABLE STITCH DENSITY
An article of footwear includes a sole and an upper at least partially formed of a textile element. The textile element includes a yarn matrix having a plurality of interlocked strands oriented in predetermined directions. A structural element may be captured within the matrix at selected locations. In operation, the matrix is stitched onto a temporary substrate. The substrate is removed and the article coupled to a sole structure to form the article of footwear.

Protective footwear, such as a motorcycle or motocross boot, can have a supple, leather boot feel. Disclosed footwear can have a hinged coupling between a foot engagement structure and a lower-leg engagement structure to promote anatomically correct flexion in a wearer's ankle. The lower-leg engagement portion can define a ledge having a lowermost face configured to abut and matingly urge against an uppermost face of a ledge of the foot engagement portion to limit an extent of pivoting of the hinged coupling. The hinged coupling, in some instances, can include a pair of opposed bushings, each defining an internal thread configured to matingly engage a corresponding outer thread on a stud. The stud can retain the lower-leg engagement portion and the foot engagement portion in a pivotable relationship to each other. The opposed bushings can be keyed to matingly engage either a lateral portion of the foot engagement portion or a medial portion of the foot engagement portion.

Article of footwear with tongue of varying thickness
An article of footwear includes a tongue. The tongue includes a medial portion, a lateral portion, a central portion, a top portion and an upper perimeter portion. The medial portion and the top portion have similar thicknesses, which are greater than the thicknesses of the lateral portion, the central portion and the upper perimeter portion. The central portion is the thinnest portion of the tongue. Each portion of the tongue corresponds to a different pressure zone along a foot in order to provide differential cushioning and support against pressure applied by a fastening system.

An apparatus and method of making the same is presented. The apparatus may comprise a front portion comprising a front exterior panel and a front interior panel, a back portion comprising a back exterior panel and a back interior panel, the back connected along two sides of the back exterior panel to two corresponding sides of the front exterior panel; and a closure part connecting the non-connected sides of the front exterior panel and the back exterior panel. The front interior panel and the back exterior panel may each comprise a slit opening for a pocket. The closure part may comprise a zipper having a key tab. The apparatus may comprise an RF blocking material. The front may further comprise a flat portion having embossed text, and may also comprise a key chain band. The apparatus may be a wallet, handbag, or other luxury accessory, and/or a wearable item.
SHOE WITH PLATES
A boot including an outsole, an upper attached to the outsole, where the upper has a vamp portion including a first layer, a second layer, and a layer of plates disposed between the first layer and the second layer. The layer of plates are arranged in one or more rows across the vamp portion. The shape of the layer of plates conforms to a shape of the upper. And in the layer of plates, a first individual row of the one or more rows stretches with respect to a second individual row of the one or more rows. The location of the layer of plates may correspond to a region of the foot within the boot including the metatarsus. The location of another layer of plates may correspond to a region of the leg within the boot including a portion of the tibia.
