An image forming device includes: a paper feeding unit configured to feed continuous form paper; an image forming unit configured to form an image on the continuous form paper; a fixing unit configured to fix the image formed on the continuous form paper; a measuring unit configured to measure a temperature of the fixing unit; and a control unit configured to control an operation of each of the paper feeding unit, the image forming unit, and the fixing unit, wherein when detecting a trouble with which feeding of the continuous form paper is suspended, the control unit performs determination processing of determining whether to prompt a user to execute removal of a part of the continuous form paper, which part is influenced by heat from the fixing unit, according to the temperature of the fixing unit which temperature is measured by the measuring unit in the detection of the trouble.

An image forming apparatus includes: a sheet conveyance unit which includes a sheet conveyance path and conveys a sheet; a sheet detector which detects the sheet in the sheet conveyance path; a job acquiring unit which acquires a print job related to the sheet; an image forming unit which forms an image on the sheet; and a processor which controls the sheet conveyance unit to perform one of first sheet conveyance and second sheet conveyance, the first sheet conveyance being performed to convey the sheet in accordance with sheet information, the second sheet conveyance being performed to convey the sheet and discharge the sheet to outside in accordance with a result of detection, wherein when sheet conveyance is resumed after suspension, the processor controls the sheet conveyance unit to perform the second sheet conveyance on a remaining sheet.

An image forming apparatus determines whether there is a possibility of tearing of the recording material occurring for a recording material. Furthermore, if there is the possibility of paper tearing, the apparatus locks an opening/closing unit related to the occurrence of the tearing of the recording material, displays a first screen indicating that the opening/closing unit is locked, and after the first screen is displayed displays a second screen indicating a procedure in which a jam processing unit is operating for resolving the jam.

An image forming apparatus according to the present invention includes a control unit 111 which performs white paper cleaning by making remaining papers pass through a fixing device in automatic purge of conveying and discharging the remaining papers after an originating paper having caused a jam is removed when the jam has occurred in a paper conveyance path, and display units 115 and 111 which display the number of papers, which is obtained by subtracting the number of the papers having passed through the fixing device by the control unit for the white paper cleaning in the automatic purge from the set number of papers set in advance as the number of papers required to pass through the fixing device in the white paper cleaning, as the number of papers set for white paper cleaning after the automatic purge.

An image reading apparatus includes a first scanner provided in a housing, a conveyance unit, and a first calibration member. The conveyance unit is provided with a separation unit which separates the first calibration member upward from the first scanner. When the first calibration member is separated, the separation unit releases connection between the conveyance unit and the housing.

An image forming apparatus suppresses the occurrence of dew condensation in a post-processing operation when the sheet is jammed. When information indicating that a sheet is jammed is received, if the sheet detecting sensor detects the sheet on a switching member, a controller executes a conveying action to drive the sheet conveying portion until an upstream edge of the sheet in the sheet conveyance direction passes through the switching member and then stops the sheet conveying portion.

An image forming system detects a first conveyance abnormality of a recording material when a time taken for the recording material conveyed along a conveyance path in the image forming system to pass a predetermined position exceeds a first threshold value, temporarily stops the conveyance of the recording material when the first conveyance abnormality is detected and changes the first threshold value to a second threshold value larger than the first threshold value when the conveyance of the recording material is temporarily stopped, and detects a second conveyance abnormality based on the second threshold when a re-conveyance is made to eject the recording material remaining in the conveyance path.

In a case where conveyance abnormality of a sheet has occurred on a conveyance passage in course of execution of a print job which uses sheets included in a sheet set including a plurality of sheets with sequentiality stored in a first sheet feed tray and discharges a sheet having been subjected to image formation to a first discharge section of the plurality of discharge sections, conveyance of a causal sheet having caused the conveyance abnormality is stopped, and sheets having been being conveyed on the conveyance passage on an upstream side than the causal sheet are discharged to other discharge section other than the first discharge section. Thereafter, continuously, sheets located before a sheet to be fed first at a time of performing recovery printing after elimination of conveyance abnormality, are fed from the first sheet feed tray, and discharged the sheets to the other discharge section.

A printer includes a casing, a print mechanism disposed inside the casing, and a paper tray. A conveying route extends from the tray to the print mechanism, with a first roller disposed adjacent the tray to feed a sheet from the tray to the conveying route. A second roller is disposed in the conveying route and conveys the sheet fed by the first roller to the print mechanism. A driving source provides a driving source to the first roller and the second roller. A controller is configured to, in response to a printing request, apply the driving force from the driving source to the first and second rollers such that the first and second rollers rotate. In response to a magnitude of a load of the driving source, the controller applies the driving force to the second roller such that the second roller rotates, and the controller does not apply the driving source to the first roller such that the first roller does not rotate.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit, an intermediate transfer member, a power source, and a control unit configured to perform a mode to output a test chart which is formed by transferring a plurality of test toner images from the intermediate transfer member to a plurality of sheets of the recording material. In a case where a jam occurred during execution of the mode, the control unit is configured to resume the mode after the jam has been recovered. In a case where the control unit resumes the mode after the jam has occurred during the execution of the mode, the control unit is configured to resume the mode from a first sheet of the plurality of sheets of the recording material regardless of a number of sheets of the recording material not discharged due to the jam.
