Upper for an article of footwear
An upper for an article of footwear is disclosed. The upper can include a plurality of layers, such as an inner layer, a middle knit layer, and an outer layer. Each of the plurality of layers can provide different functionalities to the upper. The combination of the inner layer, middle knit layer, and the outer layer can be effective at transferring a load from the underfoot region to a position above the biteline.
FOAMABLE YARNS, TEXTILES AND ARTICLES INCORPORATING FOAMABLE YARNS, AND THE PROCESS OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
An article, such as an article of footwear includes, a textile component. The textile component includes a yarn. The yarn includes a thermoplastic material and a blowing agent with an activation condition. Upon triggering the activation condition of the blowing agent, the blowing agent introduces a plurality of cavities, i.e. cells, into the thermoplastic material, creating a multicellular foam area of the textile.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A TEXTILE MATERIAL
A method for producing a textile material, in particular a shoe upper, including the steps of: providing a shaping support, in particular a last; melting a polymer composition at a first temperature; applying the molten polymer composition to the shaping support. The molten polymer composition is applied to the shaping support by a nozzle which has an outlet opening for the molten polymer composition and a plurality of air exit openings which are provided around the outlet opening and from which compressed air is supplied to the exiting polymer composition in such a way that the molten polymer composition which has exited from the nozzle is applied as a helical filament to the shaping support.
ARTICLE COMPRISING A KNIT ELEMENT
A customized, flat-knit multi-zonal element for a shoe upper and a method of producing such an element that allows for continuous knitting while controlling positioning of individual threads. One or more carriages may move continuously along the needle bed while threads are provided to the needles for a complete stroke. Knit elements may include multiple zones with differing properties. Threads may alter positions within knit structures from zone to zone. A knit element may include a first zone in a first plane that includes at least two merged threads to form a merged knit structure and a second zone in a second plane connected to the first zone seamlessly. Some knit structures may be positioned throughout the knit element such that they control a position of zones relative to each other.
SHOEMAKING MACHINE HAVING ULTRASONIC POSITIONING FUNCTION
A shoemaking machine includes a sewing device having a cantilever unit, a work platform and a clamping frame unit. The cantilever unit has a sewing needle extending toward the clamping frame unit. A driving device is disposed on the cantilever unit, and includes a movable seat that is movable toward and away from the clamping frame unit. An ultrasonic positioning device is connected to the cantilever unit, and includes a welding head facing the clamping frame unit. The clamping device is connected to the movable seat and has a clamping space. The ultrasonic positioning device is inserted into the clamping space and is clamped by the clamping device.
ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING AN ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR
An article of footwear includes an upper and a strobel stitched to the upper at a series of stitches disposed in stitch holes that extend through the strobel. The strobel and the upper define a foot-receiving cavity with an inner surface of the strobel disposed at the foot-receiving cavity. A midsole is secured to the upper and an outer surface of the strobel is disposed at the midsole. The stitch holes are obstructed such that the stitch holes are not exposed to both the midsole and the foot-receiving cavity. Accordingly, when a flowable polymeric material is injected in a mold cavity to form the midsole with the lower portion of the upper and the strobel in the mold cavity, the stitch holes will not provide a path for entry of the flowable polymeric material into the foot-receiving cavity. A method of manufacturing an article of footwear is disclosed.
Textile Component Production Systems and Methods
Systems and methods for manufacturing a garment, include: (a) receiving garment design input data for a garment design including data representing a first textile structural unit at a first location in the garment design and data representing a second textile structural unit at a second location in the garment design; (b) generating a textile production machine instruction data set based on the garment design input data; (c) forming a first garment using a first textile production machine to include the first textile structural unit at a first location in the first garment and the second textile structural unit at a second location in the first garment; (d) creating revised garment design input data for the garment design based on the first garment created in the forming step; (e) generating revised textile production machine instruction data set based on the revised garment design input data; and (f) forming a second garment using a textile production machine and the revised garment design input data including the changes to the garment design.
STITCHING SYSTEM FOR A SHOE UPPER
A stitching system includes a jig capable of joining two shoe parts and capable of being used in an automated stitching machine. The jig includes a lower member capable of being operably coupled to the automated stitching machine and an upper member also capable of being operably coupled to the automated stitching machine. The two shoe parts are held in place between the lower member and the upper member. The lower member, the upper member and the two shoe parts therebetween are moved by the automated stitching machine in accordance with a pattern stored in the automated stitching machine.
Stitching System For A Shoe Upper
A system for stitching two parts of a shoe together includes a stitching machine with a head and a cylinder bed. The head has a needle base disposed on a lower end adjacent the cylinder bed such that the two shoe parts can be stitched together therebetween. A positioning mechanism has a curved drive frame and is capable of moving the curved drive frame in a rotating motion along the circumference of the curved drive frame and in a linear direction generally along an axis of the curved drive frame. A jig positions the two shoe parts with respect to one another and is coupled to the curved drive frame. The jig includes a curved support surface for supporting the two shoe parts.
Knit Shoe Upper With Moc Seam And Collar
A shoe includes a sole and upper secured to the sole. The upper has a knitted element formed of unitary one-piece construction on a knitting machine. The knitted element includes a Moc seam allowance within a toe region, lateral and medial metatarsal regions, and lateral and medial ball regions. The upper has a Moc seam formed in part by the knitted element. The Moc seam is in at least the toe region, the lateral metatarsal region, and the medial metatarsal region. The Moc seam includes a core around which the Moc seam allowance is wrapped and stitched to itself to contain the core at least partially within a cavity formed by the Moc seam allowance.
