Apparatus and Methods for Packing of Cigarettes
A method for assembling a cigarette involves placing a cigarette starter cone in an internal cavity of a holding fixture carried on a translatable carriage at a first station, moving the carriage to a second station, loading a quantity of content into the cone at the second station by a content loading mechanism, moving the carriage to a third station, packing the loaded content in the cigarette starter cone at the third station by a packing mechanism flowing pressurized gas, moving the carriage to a fourth station, exposing the open end of the cigarette starter cone at the fourth station, clamping an exposed portion of the paper cone at the open end by a twister mechanism, activating the twister mechanism, rotating the twister mechanism at least one full turn, twisting the open end closed, and releasing the paper cone, and opening the holding fixture, releasing the packed and twisted-closed cigarette.
Smoking article assembly
A modular apparatus is configured to cause received rods of smokeable material to undergo a first sequence of operations. The modular apparatus can be reconfigured so as to cause received rods of smokeable material to undergo a second sequence of operations, different to the first sequence of operations. The first and second sequences of operations respectively form at least part of first and second processes for assembling smoking articles, each smoking article comprising one of said rods of smokeable material, which is smoked in use. The modular apparatus comprises a first inserter configured to insert a first rod article between two tobacco rods, a first rod divider configured to divide the first rod article into at least two parts, a separator configured to separate a first group comprising a rod of smokeable material and one of said parts from a second group comprising a rod of smokeable material and another of said parts and a second inserter configured to insert a second rod article between the first and second groups.

MACHINE FOR WRAPPING A SMOKABLE MATERIAL IN A WRAPPER, A FEEDING DEVICE FOR THE MACHINE, AND A SMOKABLE PRODUCT THEREFROM
A machine for wrapping smokable material in a wrapper includes a garniture defining a straight path along a longitudinal axis on which a wrapper is guided. A garniture belt transports the wrapper along the straight path. A feeding device for feeding a smokable material to the garniture includes a first conveyor having an upper section on which the smokable material is supported, the first conveyor being actuatable to move the smokable material in a feed direction toward a downstream side of the first conveyor. A holding container has a bottom defined at least partially by the first conveyor. A feed transports the smokable material from a supply container to the holding container so that that an amount of smokable material in the holding container is maintained within a range including a predetermined minimum amount and a predetermined maximum amount. A metering device meters the amount of smokable material that is moved by the first conveyor from the holding container toward the garniture.
Compact cigarette manufacturing machine
A compact cigarette manufacturing machine comprises a housing, a filling pipe, a loading element, a presser, and a push spoon. The housing encloses a material chamber comprising a bottom surface and an open end for receiving materials. The filling pipe is disposed on the housing to define a filling tip, and extends into a filling cavity in communication with the material chamber. The loading element is assembled with the housing and is operable to load the materials into the filling cavity through an opening of the bottom surface of the material chamber. The presser is assembled with the housing and is operable to press the materials loaded in the filling cavity. A push spoon slidably disposed inside the filling cavity is operable to deliver the materials in the filling cavity into a cigarette tube loaded on the filling tip.
Cone loading device and method therefor
A device for automated loading and forming smoking articles has a pre-rolled cone holder holding a plurality of pre-rolled cones. A loading mechanism loads individual pre-rolled cones in the pre-rolled cone holder with a predefined amount of material. A filling mechanism deposits the predefined amount of material in the loading mechanism, the filling mechanism monitoring an amount of material loaded in the filling mechanism and sending a signal to stop loading the filling mechanism with the material when a predefined amount has been loaded. A dispensing mechanism sends the material to the filling mechanism. A hopper is in communication with the dispensing mechanism storing the material. A shaker is coupled to the hopper shaking the material in the hopper preventing the material from sticking together.

Packer Station of a Packaging Apparatus and System
The technology described herein generally relates to an automated packaging apparatus and system that packages loose particles into a conical container as well as the final folded packages. More specifically, loose plant matter, such as crumbled dried leaves, are supplied to successive paper cones. The apparatus packs the crumbled leaves into the cones, applies air bursts to pack the material within the cone, closes the wide top portion of the cone, and then runs a quality control check to ensure that the final filled cone meets preset specifications.
Keyhole Fill Plate for Vertical Multi-Tamping Cigarette Herb Filling System and Method
An apparatus for making cigarettes has a plate on pegs holding paper rolls, a cover plate having second holes matching the holes in the holder plate, the cover plate engaging alignment pegs, a fill tray having third holes having a common diameter larger than the diameter of the second holes, the fill tray having keyhole corner openings engaging the alignment pegs allowing a range of lateral positions one of which is a closed position with no passage between the third holes in the fill tray and the second holes, and another being an open position with the third holes aligned with the second holes, such that moving the fill tray from the closed position to the open position allows the smoking material in the third holes to fall through the second holes in the cover plate into the paper rolls in the first holes of the holder plate.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR FORMING A VARIABLE SIZE CANNABIS JOINT
There is provided an apparatus for forming a cigarette, in particular, consumer, home appliance machinery to automate a manual, laboured production of cannabis rod, commonly referred to as joints. The apparatus as herein described may provide an all-in-one solution for cannabis or smokable herbs storage, crushing, packing and rolling of custom sized joints, on command while minimizing maintenance and refill of consumables. In addition, the apparatus has the versatility to use a refillable cartridge as well as a single-use, nitrogen flushed and/or vacuum sealed cartridge, which may extend both shelf-life and the freshness of cannabis flower.
