HOLOGRAPHIC DISPLAY APPARATUS AND OPERATING METHOD THEREOF
A holographic display apparatus and a holographic display method are provided. The holographic display apparatus determines a representative depth from 3D image data; calculates a computer generated hologram (CGH) corresponding to the representative depth on the 3D image data; obtains the modulated CGH by modulating a phase of the CGH to increase an eye box; modulates a light according to the modulated CGH and generates a hologram image; and forms the generated hologram image at the representative depth.
Projection
There is disclosed herein an image projector arranged to project an image onto a display plane. The image projector comprises a processing engine, a display device, an optical element and a light source. The processing engine is arranged to output a computer-generated diffractive pattern comprising a hologram of an image for projection and a lens function corresponding to a lens having a first optical power. The display device is arranged to display the computer-generated diffractive pattern. The optical element is disposed between the display device to the display plane. The optical element has second optical power. The light source is arranged to provide off-axis illumination of the display device in order to spatially-modulated light in accordance with the hologram and lens function. The lens function of the computer-generated diffractive pattern and the optical element collectively perform a hologram transform of the hologram such that a reconstruction of the image is formed on the display plane. The display device is tilted with respect to the optical element by a first angle greater than zero. The display plane is tilted with respect to the optical element by a second angle greater than zero. The second angle is less than the first angle.
A DUAL-IMAGE PROJECTION APPARATUS, A HEAD-UP DISPLAY APPARATUS, AND A VEHICLE VISION AUXILIARY SYSTEM
The present application discloses a dual-image projection apparatus. The apparatus includes a light source and a spatial light modulator including a first modulation module and a second nodulation module. Additionally, the apparatus includes a Fourier lens and the spatial light modulator is positioned at a front focal plane of the Fourier lens. The first modulation module modulates light from the light source through the Fourier lens to reproduce a first 2D holographic image and the second modulation module modulates the light through the Fourier lens to reproduce a plurality of second 2D holographic images. The apparatus further includes a first light-diffusing film to display the first 2D holographic image to produce a first virtual image and a plurality of second light-diffusing films to respectively display the plurality of second 2D holographic images sequentially in a rate to produce a 3D virtual image.
DISPLAY, TRANSFER FOIL, ADHESIVE LABEL, AND LABELED ARTICLE
A display including a relief structure forming layer having a major surface with a relief type diffractive structure that displays a three-dimensional object as a diffraction image; and a reflective layer at least partially covering a region of the major surface where the diffractive structure is provided. A portion of the diffractive structure in a first region includes first and second linear parts forming a first lattice, and first parts arranged in respective gaps of the first lattice. The first and second linear parts each having a solid line shape form a first pattern. A portion of the diffractive structure in a second region includes third and fourth linear parts alternately arranged in the width direction thereof. The third linear parts each having a dashed line shape and the fourth linear parts each having a dashed or dotted line shape form a second pattern.
Holographic lidar system and method
There is provided a lighting device arranged to produce a controllable light beam for illuminating a scene. The device comprises an addressable spatial light modulator arranged to provide a selectable phase delay distribution to a beam of incident light. The device further comprises Fourier optics arranged to receive phase-modulated light from the spatial light modulator and form a light distribution. The device further comprises projection optics arranged to project the light distribution to form a pattern of illumination as said controllable light beam.

METHOD OF DISPLAYING A HOLOGRAM ON A DISPLAY DEVICE COMPRISING PIXELS
There is provided a holographic projector comprising a hologram engine and a controller. The hologram engine is arranged to provide a hologram comprising a plurality of hologram pixels. Each hologram pixel has a respective hologram pixel value. The controller is arranged to selectively-drive a plurality of light-modulating pixels so as to display the hologram. Displaying the hologram comprises displaying each hologram pixel value on a contiguous group of light-modulating pixels of the plurality of light-modulating pixels such that there is a one-to-many pixel correlation between the hologram and the plurality of light-modulating pixels.
2D/3D holographic display system
The disclosure provides a display system and a method for displaying a virtual image to a viewer An optical system of the disclosure includes a spatial light modulator, a light source, a Fourier transform lens, a viewing system and a processing system. The spatial light modulator is arranged to display holographic data in the Fourier domain, illuminated by the light source. The Fourier transform lens is arranged to produce a 2D holographic reconstruction in the spatial domain corresponding to the holographic data. The viewing system is arranged to produce a virtual image of the 2D holographic reconstruction. The processing system is arranged to combine the Fourier domain data representative of a 2D image with Fourier domain data representative of a phase only lens to produce first holographic data, and provide the first holographic data to the optical system to produce a virtual image.
Holographic Light Detection and Ranging
A light detection and ranging system arranged to scan a scene is provided. A light source outputs light having a first characteristic. A spatial light modulator receives output light from the light source and outputs spatially-modulated light in accordance with computer-generated holograms represented thereon. A light detector receives light having the first characteristic from the scene and outputs a light response signal. A holographic controller is arranged to output a plurality of computer-generated holograms to the spatial light modulator. Each computer-generated hologram is arranged to form structured light having a corresponding pattern within the scene. The holographic controller is further arranged to change the pattern of the structured light formed by at least one of the plurality of computer-generated holograms.
Holographic Projection
A holographic projector comprises an image processing engine arranged to, a hologram engine and a display engine. The image processing engine is arranged to receive a source image for projection. The source image comprises a first colour component and a second colour component. The image processing engine is further arranged to form a first colour secondary image from the first colour component by nulling alternate pixel values of the first colour component in accordance with a first checkerboard pattern. The image processing engine is further arranged to form a second colour secondary image from the second colour component by nulling alternate pixel values of the second colour component in accordance with a second checkerboard pattern. The first checkerboard pattern is opposite to the second checkerboard pattern. The hologram engine is arranged to determine a first colour hologram corresponding to the first colour secondary image and a second colour hologram corresponding to the second colour secondary image. The display engine is arranged to form a first colour holographic reconstruction from the first colour hologram and a second colour holographic reconstruction from the second colour hologram.
