20170328998 · 2017-11-16 ·

A vehicle such as a helicopter may scan a scene using a transmitter mounted on a rotating part like a rotor and a receiver mounted on a body of the vehicle. Based on a Doppler shift caused by the rotation of the rotating part, patterns may be recorded and used to develop a holographic image of the scene.

DEVICE FOR DETERMINING A 3D STRUCTURE OF AN OBJECT
20170322015 · 2017-11-09 ·

A device for determining a 3D structure of an object having first and second laser emitters which generate laser radiation with first and second different wavelengths, respectively. A first beam splitter splits the laser radiation of each laser emitter into reference and illuminating radiation. The illuminating radiation is adapted to impinge on the object to be measured, be reflected by the object as object radiation, and interfere with the reference radiation to form interference patterns. A detector receives the interference patterns. A selection hologram deflects object radiation which impinges on it within a predefined incidence angle range and passes object radiation which impinges on it outside of the incidence angle range undiffracted. The undiffracted radiation either passes by the determination area of the detector or impinges on the determination area at an angle outside the determination angle range.

Optical imaging through display

An image pixel array captures and infrared image of an interference between an imaging signal and a reference wavefront. A display pixel array generates an infrared holographic imaging signal and the image pixel array receives the infrared imaging signal through the display pixel array.

Disclosed is a method for generating a digital hologram representing a 3D scene including an object, an object being defined by points and their associated intensity. For each object, a prior step of calculating an “omnidirectional” angular spectrum of the light field emitted by an object in the scene on the surface of a geometric solid centered on the object, a surface of the solid being sampled according to a predetermined grid, a sample of the grid being associated with a vector frequency; for the scene, the following steps: —obtaining a pose of an observer in the world frame of reference; —deriving the hologram from the scene as a function of the pose obtained from the “multidirectional” angular spectra calculated for each object. The step of calculating an angular spectrum of the light field for each object of the scene takes into account predetermined viewing directions.

METHOD AND HOLOGRAPHIC APPARATUS FOR THE THREE-DIMENSIONAL REPRESENTATION OF SCENES
20220179360 · 2022-06-09 ·

An apparatus and method for the three-dimensional representation of scenes comprising an illumination device and a spatial light modulation device for modulating incident light. A hologram is encoded into the spatial light modulation device and the hologram is composed of individual sub-holograms, in which an object point of an object of the scene to be reconstructed by the hologram is encoded in each case. The spatial light modulation device is illuminated with substantially coherent light by the illumination device in at least one illumination section. An amplitude distribution and a phase distribution for representing the scene and amplitude values and phase values derived therefrom are determined for encoding the spatial light modulation device. The amplitude of the light incident on the spatial light modulation device in the respective illumination section is set based on at least one parameter at least determined from the amplitude values in this illumination section.
