Support members for articles of footwear
An article of footwear includes a sole structure and an upper coupled to the sole structure. The upper includes a base layer and a plurality of support members. The base layer has a peripheral portion. The support members have end portions and an intermediate portion extending between the end portions. The end portions of the support members are coupled to the peripheral portion of the base layer. Each of the intermediate portions of the support members intersect with one or more other ones of the support members and is independently movable between a relaxed state and an engaged state relative to the one or more other ones of the support members.
ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR INCORPORATING A KNITTED COMPONENT
An article of footwear may include an upper incorporating a knitted component. An inlaid strand extends through the knitted component. A combination feeder may be utilized to inlay the strand within the knitted component. As an example, the combination feeder may include a feeder arm that reciprocates between a retracted position and an extended position. In manufacturing the knitted component, the feeder inlays the strand when the feeder arm is in the extended position, and the strand is absent from the knitted component when the feeder arm is in the retracted position.
FOOTWEAR ARTICLE WITH WEAR GUARD
A footwear article is provided comprising an upper and a wear guard. In at least one example, the wear guard may be structured with bellows extending along an edge of a lacing structure of the footwear article, the bellows positioned between the lacing structure and a toe of the footwear article.
Article of footwear with reconfigurable fastening system
An article of footwear includes a sole, an upper, and a reconfigurable fastening system. The upper is coupled to the sole and includes medial and lateral quarters. Disposed on the medial and lateral quarters are a plurality of eyelets. Each of the eyelets includes a pair of openings disposed in the upper. The plurality of eyelets further includes at least one elongate member threaded through the pair of openings of each eyelet. The elongate member includes a series of first, or unexposed, portions that are disposed on an inner surface of the upper, and a series of second, or exposed, portions that are disposed on the outer surface of the upper. As fastener or lacing may be selectively threaded through an eyelet of the plurality of eyelets, where the fastener may be threaded between the second portion of the elongate member and the outer surface of the upper.
Knitted tensile structures
A knit component may include a knit-in tensile area, which may include an opening at least partially bounded by a first intersecting portion and a second intersecting portion. A course of tensile material that is integrally knitted with the first intersecting portion via a knit stitch may include a float extending from the first intersecting portion, across the opening, to the second intersecting portion. A knitting method may knit courses of the knit component on needle beds and then widen and/or narrow parts of the opening by transferring stitches of one of the courses of the knit component to different needles.
Rapid-entry footwear having an arm for expanding an opening
A shoe upper having a plurality of arms that expand the shoe opening when the topline of the upper is compressed toward the sole portion of the shoe.
ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR WITH DISPENSED SADDLE
A method of manufacturing an article of footwear includes forming an upper dispensed component by dispensing material over an upper for an article of footwear. The upper dispensed component includes a bonded segment that bonds to the article of footwear and a non-bonded segment that does not bond to the article of footwear. The non-bonded segment is dispensed over a non-stick material.
Woven footwear upper with integrated tensile strands
Aspects hereof relate to a footwear upper formed from a plurality of tensile strands interwoven with a webbing material. The upper may have a bootie configuration. At least a portion of the strands may extend between a lateral-side portion of the upper and a medial-side portion of the upper and extend over an instep region and/or a sole region of the upper. The tensile strands may be bundled such that a plurality of strands forms a single weft or warp. Bundles having differing quantities of tensile strands may form a pattern on the upper that is effective for aiding conformance of the upper to a wearer's foot while enhancing ventilation and reducing water saturation. The tensile strands, whether singular or bundled, may be effective for transferring a load of a fastening mechanism through the woven upper while allowing the upper to have a desired degree of elasticity, support and/or comfort.
Lacing architecture for automated footwear platform
Systems and apparatus related to an automated footwear platform including an actuator assembly for controlling a footwear lacing apparatus are discussed. In an example, an Lacing architectures for automated footwear assemblies are discussed. In an example, a footwear assembly can include a floating tongue within an upper assembly. The lacing architecture can include a first plurality or lace guides forming a first lacing zone and a second plurality of lace guides forming a second lacing zone. The lacing architecture can also include a tongue lace guide assembly secure to a proximal portion of the floating tongue.
Multilayered materials with color changing properties
Described are articles of wear including with a material with color changing properties. The material includes at least one elastic portion having an unstretched colored appearance and a stretched colored appearance. The material also includes at least one fixed portion having the stretched colored appearance regardless of a magnitude of an external force applied to the at least one fixed portion.
