A beam deflection apparatus includes a first beam deflector that deflects light in a first direction and a second beam deflector that deflects light in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, wherein the first beam deflector and the second beam deflector each include a first region for deflecting light of a first wavelength and a second region for deflecting light of a second wavelength, and a ratio of a spatial period of a signal applied to first drive electrodes arranged in the first region of the first beam deflector to the first wavelength is the same as a ratio of a spatial period of a signal applied to second drive electrodes arranged in the second region of the first beam deflector to the second wavelength.
SAW modulators and light steering methods
An electro-holographic light field generator device is disclosed. The light field generator device has an optical substrate with a waveguide face and an exit face. One or more surface acoustic wave (SAW) optical modulator devices are included within each light field generator device. The SAW devices each include a light input, a waveguide, and a SAW transducer, all configured for guided mode confinement of input light within the waveguide. A leaky mode deflection of a portion of the waveguided light, or diffractive light, impinges upon the exit face. Multiple output optics at the exit face are configured for developing from each of the output optics a radiated exit light from the diffracted light for at least one of the waveguides. An RF controller is configured to control the SAW devices to develop the radiated exit light as a three-dimensional output light field with horizontal parallax and compatible with observer vertical motion.
High precision stable optical alignment and configuration
An optical apparatus includes a plurality of lenses including a first lens affixed to an optics mount holder which is adjustably affixed to an alignment channel part. The optical axis of the first lens passes through a hollow area of the alignment channel part. The lens is mounted on the optics mount holder which is adjustably affixed to one end of the alignment channel part with a plurality of adjustable fasteners. A method is provided for aligning the optical apparatus.
Device for detecting objects by holography
A device for detecting at least one object present in a sample, the device including a light source to emit at least one incident wave at a wavelength λ, a detection volume intended to receive the object, and to receive at least one incident wave, an image sensor positioned to receive at least one scattered light wave obtained by diffraction of the incident wave on the object and a reference wave from the source and not diffracted on the object and to generate a holographic image, and a computer data processing device to digitally reconstruct the object based at least on the holographic image and the wavelength λ. The device also comprises a support comprising patterns organized to form at least one diffraction grating, the grating being periodic and having a pitch P, such that λ/2≤P≤2λ.
Diffractive projection apparatus
A light projection apparatus is provided comprising: a source of light; a switchable grating on a first substrate; and a diffractive optical element. Light is diffracted at least once by the switchable grating and is diffracted at least once by the DOE.

A beam deflector includes a first electrode layer including a plurality of line electrodes extending in a first direction and arranged parallel to each other in a second direction crossing the first direction; a second electrode layer separated from the first electrode layer by a predetermined distance to face the first electrode layer; and a deflection layer between the first electrode layer and the second electrode layer and having a plurality of optically anisotropic molecules controlled by an electric field formed between the first electrode layer and the second electrode layer. Each of the optically anisotropic molecules has an ellipse shape having a major axis and a minor axis, wherein the major axis is arranged to head for the first direction.

A system or device includes a member structure, a plurality of flexible members, and a plurality of tips disposed at ends of the flexible members. The member structure includes an ultrasonic emitter configured to emit an ultrasonic imaging signal. The plurality of flexible members are coupled to the member structure. The plurality of tips are disposed at ends of the flexible members. At least one tip of the plurality of tips includes an image sensor configured to receive an infrared exit signal.
Digital hologram display apparatus and displaying method of digital holographic image
Provided are a method of displaying a digital holographic image and a digital hologram display apparatus, the method including generating and converting a digital hologram, recording the digital hologram in a spatial light modulator, radiating coherent parallel light to the spatial light modulator, removing an aliasing noise image, and implementing a reconstructed image reconstructed by the spatial light modulator.
Device and method for producing master diffraction grating
A device for producing a master diffraction grating includes a light source unit and a reflecting member 11. The light source unit forms a first interference fringe by irradiating a substrate surface of a master substrate 101 with light. The reflecting member 11 reflects the light from the light source unit reflected on the substrate surface of the master substrate 101 and guides the light again to the substrate surface side to form a second interference fringe. A resist pattern based on the first interference fringe and the second interference fringe is formed on the substrate surface of the master substrate 101.
Reconstructing objects with display zero order light suppression
Methods, apparatus, devices, and systems for reconstructing three-dimensional objects with display zero order light suppression are provided. In one aspect, a method includes illuminating a display with light, a portion of the light illuminating display elements of the display, and modulating the display elements of the display with a hologram corresponding to holographic data to diffract the portion of the light to form a holographic scene corresponding to the holographic data, and to suppress display zero order light in the holographic scene. The display zero order light can include reflected light from the display.
