Motorcycle boot

Protective footwear, such as a motorcycle or motocross boot, can have a supple, leather boot feel. Disclosed footwear can have a hinged coupling between a foot-engagement structure and a lower-leg engagement structure to promote anatomically correct flexion in a wearer's ankle. The lower-leg engagement portion can define a ledge having a lowermost face configured to abut and matingly urge against an uppermost face of a ledge of the foot-engagement portion to limit an extent of pivoting of the hinged coupling. The hinged coupling, in some instances, can include a pair of opposed bushings, each defining an internal thread configured to matingly engage a corresponding outer thread on a stud. The stud can retain the lower-leg engagement portion and the foot-engagement portion in a pivotable relationship to each other. The opposed bushings can be keyed to matingly engage either a lateral portion of the foot-engagement portion or a medial portion of the foot-engagement portion.

Metatarsal guards for footwear

Safety footwear adapted to provide protection to the instep region and/or metatarsals of a wearer is provided, including an internal metatarsal guard disposed in an interior of an upper, a first external metatarsal guard joined with the exterior of the upper, and optionally a second external metatarsal guard joined with the exterior of the upper, and overlapping the first external metatarsal guard. Upon flexing of the instep region during a gait cycle of a wearer, the second external metatarsal guard can ride along the first external metatarsal guard in a lobster tail articulation. The footwear and its components provide impact and crushing force resistance, yet the footwear is flexible enough to provide enhanced mobility to a wearer.

Work Shoe

A work shoe, in particular a safety shoe, includes at least one passive protection unit which is intended to passively protect a shoe wearer at least against mechanical and/or electrical loads, and includes at least one active protection unit which has at least one sensor unit which is intended to detect at least one characteristic variable at least in order to enable a protection function and/or a comfort function. The sensor unit is configured at least for detecting at least one person-related characteristic variable and/or at least one environmental characteristic variable.

The invention relates to a method for producing a toe cap (10) and such a toe cap itself. The toe cap comprises at least one end wall (12) extending in an arch shape and a cover wall (14) extending therefrom that covers the toes on the upper side, wherein the cover wall and the end wall have a base wall thickness G and areas separated from sections of the walls, such as webs in the walls, have a thickness D with 0D<W, wherein the difference between the volume of the toe cap with areas filled to the base wall thickness W and the volume of the toe cap with the areas of lesser thickness is 5% to 35%, and/or the difference between the area of the toe cap with filled areas and the outer surface of the toe cap without the areas is 20% to 60%.

Comfort System for Boots

A comfort system for Cowboy and work boots, including an insole chassis, an insole chassis backing board, and cushioning pads for absorbing and attenuating shocks encountered by a wearer of the boots. Cushioning pads are secured to a surface of the insole chassis backing board, and apertures in the insole chassis allow the cushions to pass through. Additional cushioning pads are retained in recesses in the midsole. Pads on insole chassis backing board and midsole are vertically aligned. A steel toe inset is utilized in conjunction with the comfort system for work boots. A rim may depend below the midsole to receive a foamed plastic pad.
