TIMEPIECE

Provided is a timepiece capable of preventing a deviation in an indication time when a user recognizes a time indication by touching with a finger. A timepiece includes: a dial having an indication region that is able to be exposed to outside and including a plurality of indexes that are able to be recognized with a tactile sense on the indication region; and one or more indication plates configured to rotate around a rotation shaft orthogonal to the indication region. Indicators indicating a time are formed on front surfaces of the indication plates by unevenness that is able to be recognized by finger touch.

Braille Timer

A braille timer teaches time in a simple manner to visually impaired individuals. The timer rotates a shaft which rotates a colored disk attached to the shaft. The initial position of the colored disk is manually set by an operator using either an arm, a positioner or a portion of the colored disk. A raised annular ring enables the colored disk to rotate freely without interference from raised bumps indicating numbers in Braille.

Segmented alphanumeric display using electromagnetic microactuators

A segmented alphanumeric includes a display panel, at least one linearly actuated platform, and display elements. Each display element passes through an orifice in the display panel to generate protruded and segmented alphanumeric characters in combination with other extended display elements. A microactuator array is displaceable by the linearly actuated platform and includes electromagnets and rotors. Each rotor is mounted for rotation in at least one direction between an active state and an inactive state by at least one associated electromagnet. Each display element is displaced through the orifice by actuation of the linearly actuated platform via a respective rotor when the respective rotor is rotated into its active state and to evade displacement by the rotor when the rotor is rotated into its inactive state.
