ELECTRONIC TIMEPIECE
An electronic timepiece that drives a function indicator and a calendar wheel with a single motor, and can return the function indicator to the reference position when the position of the function indicator shifts due to an external disturbance. The electronic timepiece has a function indicator for displaying information other than time; a driver that drives the function indicator; a display member that is driven in conjunction with the function indicator to display information based on time; an indicator position detector configured to detect the function indicator at an indicator position detection position; and a controller that controls the driver and the indicator position detector to execute a function indicator position detection process.

HAND POSITION IDENTIFICATION DEVICE, TIMEPIECE, AND HAND POSITION IDENTIFICATION METHOD
A hand position identification device includes a rotation detection unit that detects a rotation state of a rotor by using an induced voltage generated in a motor for rotating a hand, a storage unit that stores a timing information piece relating to a timing at which the induced voltage exceeds a predetermined threshold, and a control unit that compares a first timing information piece stored in the storage unit and obtained in a case where the hand is located at a first position, with a second timing information piece obtained in a case where the hand is located at a second position, and that identifies the second position as an identified position in a case where a difference between the first timing information piece and the second timing information piece is equal to or more than a predetermined amount.

HAND POSITION CONTROL DEVICE, TIMEPIECE, AND HAND POSITION CONTROL METHOD
A hand position control device includes a mode switching unit that is capable of switching between a normal hand movement mode and a manual hand position setting mode and a control unit that sets a pulse width of a driving pulse to be output to a coil of a motor that rotates a hand and sets a manual pulse width of the driving pulse in the manual hand position setting mode to be larger than a normal pulse width of the driving pulse in the normal hand movement mode.

Timepiece assembly comprising a mechanical oscillator associated with a regulating device
A mechanical movement timepiece assembly with a mechanical oscillator is formed by a resonator of the balance-hairspring type, and a device for regulating the oscillation frequency thereof using an auxiliary oscillator equipped with a quartz resonator. The regulating device includes a sensor, suitable for detecting the passage of the resonator via the neutral position thereof, a measuring device suitable for measuring, on the basis of position signals supplied by the sensor, a time drift of the mechanical oscillator relative to the auxiliary oscillator, and a device for applying to the resonator mechanical braking pulses when a certain time drift is observed. For this purpose, the resonator has a braking surface which extends over at least a certain sector having a certain length along the oscillation axis and against which a braking member may press in order to momentarily brake the resonator.
