Portable object for control of an additional activity

A watch including an electronic movement driving display for an analog display on a dial of at least one additional function in addition to a normal current time display, the at least one function being controlled by a controller and including at least one phase using an operating mode in which a duration of the phase is measured.

Load estimating device and power generator

A load estimating device measures a voltage and a current supplied to a load connected with a generator, calculates a feature amount of the load, senses a remaining amount of fuel, outputs a time during which the load is continuously operable. The device estimates what the load connected with the generator is, based on the calculated feature amount and the feature amounts stored in a storage, and determines the time during which the estimated load is continuously operable, based on a power consumption of the estimated load, and the remaining amount of fuel. The device has a load registration mode for causing the storage to store therein a feature amount of a new load that is not stored in a storage.

A transmitter (102) is provided. The transmitter (102) comprises a first communication interface (112) for receiving data. The transmitter (102) also comprises a timer (104) for measuring a relative-time and a processing system (110) for providing the data with a relative-time timestamp. A second communication interface (105) is provided for outputting the relative-time timestamped data.

TIMING-DIFFERENCE MEASUREMENT

There is disclosed herein current-mode circuitry for measuring a timing difference between first and second signals, the circuitry comprising: a tail node configured during a measurement operation to receive a current pulse in dependence upon the first signal; first and second nodes conductively connectable to said tail node along respective first and second paths; and steering circuitry configured during the measurement operation to control such connections between the tail node and the first and second nodes based on the second signal to steer the current pulse so that a first portion of the current pulse passes along the first path and a second portion of the current pulse passes along the second path in dependence upon the timing difference between said first and second signals; and a signal output unit configured to output a measurement-result signal indicating a measure of said timing difference based upon one or both of the first and second portions.

In one embodiment there is a method for activating a function of a mobile application on a mobile device, using a movable device, the movable device including a processor, the processor including an inertial measurement unit and a wireless transmitter. The method comprising: at the movable device: detecting a movement signal at the inertial measurement unit indicating movement of the movable device; in response to detecting the movement signal from the wireless transmitter, determining whether the movement signal meets movement criteria; in response to determining that the movement signal meets movement criteria, transmitting a function activation signal to the mobile device to activate the function of the mobile application; and in response to determining that the movement signal does not meet movement criteria, refraining from transmitting a function activation signal to the mobile device to activate the function of the mobile application.

EMERGENCY READINESS VERIFICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD OF CALIBRATION
20220236102 · 2022-07-28 · ·

An emergency readiness verification system includes a housing, a secure weight-sensing mechanism, a vertically-actuated switch assembly, a vertically-adjustable calibration mechanism, and an alert device in communication with the vertically-actuated switch assembly. The vertically-adjustable calibration mechanism fixes a vertical position of the vertically-actuated switch assembly such that an engagement tab of the attachment extension engages an actuator of the vertically-actuated switch assembly when a weight of the fire extinguisher supported by an extinguisher attachment falls is within an alert threshold, and disengages the actuator when the weight of the fire extinguisher falls below the alert threshold or when the fire extinguisher is not supported by the extinguisher attachment.

Hand Washing Timer Kit
20210388585 · 2021-12-16 ·

A hand washing timer kit that displays a countdown timer for an appropriate hand washing session along with hand washing instructions. The hand washing timer kit has a water dispenser to dispense a quantity of water and a soap dispenser to dispense a quantity of soap, wherein both the water and the soap are dispensed in a touchless manner using an infrared proximity sensor system. The timer displays the countdown from a preconfigured maximum value to zero to allow a user to wash the hands for the desired duration. The instruction display displays the hand washing instructions throughout the duration of the washing session, and an integrated speaker plays the hand washing instructions and/or the countdown. The sensor system detects when soap has been dispensed, and delays the availability of water until the washing session duration has elapsed.

SONIC GENERATOR FOR USE WITH A TIMING AND DATA COLLECTION SYSTEM FOR A LIVE SPORTING EVENT
20210375070 · 2021-12-02 ·

A sonic generator for use with timing and data collection systems is a button activated device operated by a referee during a live sporting event. It can be hand-held or integrated with a referee's belt pack and replaces a conventional exhalation-powered whistle. It can be configured to record and replay a custom sonic signal, a sonic signal selected from a database of pre-recorded sounds, or a standard sonic signal such as a generic whistle sound. Each sonic generator generates a unique sonic signal which is compared to digitally stored sonic fingerprints at a given sporting event to identify a match, and starts or stops the game clock in response to that match. This prevents inadvertent game clock starts and stops resulting from ambient noise. The sonic generator can be configured as a two-way voice communication system to allow referees to communicate with other game officials.

INFORMATION RECORDING APPARATUS, INFORMATION RECORDING METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM RECORDING PROGRAM

An information recording apparatus includes a processor. The processor obtains index information representing a lapse situation after a start of movement. The processor obtains either of a time elapsed from the start of movement and a distance passing from a start point of movement. The processor controls, by using either of the elapsed time and the passing distance, to obtain the index information to, as either of a lapse of time from the start of movement and the distance passing from the start point of movement increases, decrease a frequency of obtainment of the index information at the start of movement or from the start point of movement. The processor records the obtained index information.
