Mobile hydrogen dispenser for fuel cell vehicles

A mobile dispenser may be used to at least partially fill hydrogen tanks of fuel cell-powered vehicles. The dispenser uses a purely mechanical control of the fill using an orifice plate across which a pressure differential is maintained through use of a backpressure regulator whose reference pressure is controlled by a differential pressure regulator. Because it does need or use electrical power, it may be used in situations where no electrical power is available or convenient.

The subject matter of this specification can be embodied in, among other things, an apparatus that includes a high-pressure pump having a pump element, a regulating device positioned upstream of the high-pressure pump, a fuel channel defined between an inflow side of the regulating device and the pump element, and a safety device, actuatable to reduce a through-flowable cross section of the fuel channel.

DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING FLUID FLOW
20210011499 · 2021-01-14 ·

A device is provided for controlling the flow of a fluid through a conduit from an upstream side to a downstream side of the device. The device includes a valve aperture, a cylindrical mounting member on the downstream side of the valve aperture, a valve member on the outside of the cylindrical mounting member that moves reciprocally to open and close the valve aperture, a control volume defined between the cylindrical mounting member and the valve member, an arrangement for introducing a control pressure into the control volume, and a seal between the outer surface of the cylindrical mounting member and the inner surface of the valve member that substantially seals the control volume. The valve member is acted on by the pressure of the upstream side (P.sub.1) and the control pressure (P.sub.4) so as to be moved by the difference between these pressures.

A device for controlling the flow of a fluid through a conduit from an upstream side of the device to a downstream side of the device. The device includes a valve aperture (30), a cylindrical mounting member (24) on the downstream side of the valve aperture, a valve member (26) on the outside of the cylindrical mounting member that moves reciprocally to open and close the valve aperture, a control volume (44) defined between the cylindrical mounting member and the valve member, an arrangement (8) for introducing a control pressure into the control volume, and a seal (34) between the outer surface of the cylindrical mounting member and the inner surface of the valve member that substantially seals the control volume. The valve member is acted on by the pressure of the upstream side (PI) and the control pressure (P4) so as to be moved by the difference between these pressures.

Bleed air selector valve

A bleed air selector valve allows selection and extraction of bleed air from a plurality of different engine bleed air ports to optimize engine efficiency and to maintain bleed requirements using a single line replaceable unit. The bleed air selector valve uses a relatively simple arrangement of poppets, check valves, and thermostatic compensation to augment high and low temperature to within acceptable limits. The bleed air selector valve significantly reduces weight, cost, envelope, and system complexity as compared to known two-port bleed systems with heat exchanger thermal compensation.
