A bleed air selector valve allows selection and extraction of bleed air from a plurality of different engine bleed air ports to optimize engine efficiency and to maintain bleed requirements using a single line replaceable unit. The bleed air selector valve uses a relatively simple arrangement of poppets, check valves, and thermostatic compensation to augment high and low temperature to within acceptable limits. The bleed air selector valve significantly reduces weight, cost, envelope, and system complexity as compared to known two-port bleed systems with heat exchanger thermal compensation.

Arrangement and method for controlling a flow of crankcase gases from an internal combustion engine prior to oil separation

The arrangement for controlling the flow of laden gases is arranged upstream of an oil separation system and is provided with a check valve, a bypass valve and a stationary segment. The check valve is at least partially movable so as to define a first passage for a forward first flow direction in the event of positive pressure, while the bypass valve is moved rearward by negative pressure so as to clear a second passage for a second, opposite, flow direction. The stationary segment forms a seating surface for the bypass valve. The bypass valve, urged against the seating surface by an elastic biasing member, forms a seat for the check valve. In the event of sufficient negative pressure, the two valves are moved rearward together despite the biasing member and work together to redirect and guide the flow along an escape path corresponding to the second passage.

Co-casted fluidic devices

A fluidic device comprises a channel, a gate, and one or more additional elements. The channel is configured to transport a fluid from a source to a drain. The gate includes a chamber with an adjustable volume that affects fluid flow within the channel by displacing a wall of the channel toward an opposite wall of the channel based in part on fluid pressure within the chamber exceeding a threshold pressure. A high pressure state of the gate corresponds to a first chamber size and a first flow rate of the fluid. A low pressure state of the gate corresponds to a second chamber size that is smaller than the first chamber size and a second flow rate that is greater than the first flow rate. The additional elements are configured to reduce the threshold pressure past which the chamber decreases the cross-sectional area of the channel.

MOBILE HYDROGEN DISPENSER FOR FUEL CELL VEHICLES

A mobile dispenser may be used to at least partially fill hydrogen tanks of fuel cell-powered vehicles. The dispenser uses a purely mechanical control of the fill using an orifice plate across which a pressure differential is maintained through use of a backpressure regulator whose reference pressure is controlled by a differential pressure regulator. Because it does need or use electrical power, it may be used in situations where no electrical power is available or convenient.

The present invention relates to a gas inlet system for an analytical apparatus. The gas inlet system comprises switchable flow restrictions for regulating gas flow rate. The invention also provides a system for calibrating gas flow rate in gas inlet systems, the system comprising a calibration line that comprises a gas flow meter, and that is arranged downstream of gas flow controllers in the gas inlet system. Methods of adjusting gas flow rates and methods of calibrating gas flow rates are also provided.
