A document authoring platform receives a user-selected idea type attribute of a structured document template. The platform identifies a supporting idea type attribute based on the user-selected idea type attribute and taxonomy rules for the structured document template. The platform receives a user-selected supporting idea type attribute and content of the user-selected supporting idea type attribute. The platform forms a tree structure of the structured document template based on the user-selected idea type attribute, the user-selected supporting idea type attribute, and the content of the user-selected supporting idea type attribute. A document is generated based on the tree structure.

Systems and methods of comparing structured documents are disclosed. From/to source documents are first represented by their respective from/to XML forms based on a predetermined schema. One or more from nodes are selected from the from XML document to compare to one or more to nodes from the to XML document. The comparison employs a set of matching functions that may be selected based on the domain of the source documents. The matching functions may compare just the tags of XML elements, and/or their text contents and/or any of their relevant attributes. The matching may be exact or approximate. Each matching function computes a score which may be weighted. For each pair of from/to nodes, an overall match-score is computed based on the scores of the individual matching functions. If the match-score reaches a matching-threshold, the pair is determined to be a match and further matching is stopped. The techniques are extended for comparing multiple from documents to a to document.

Systems and methods are provided for generating an event type and extending event message streaming. The generating an event type includes receiving event definition data. The disclosed technology includes an event type generator that generates scripts in a variety of languages for processing an event of the event type and event dictionary data including event schema associated with the event type. The event dictionary data represents a lightweight library package for merging into a micro service. The event type generator further registers the event type in an event message streamer thereby extending the event message streaming with the event type. The event message streamer provides an event bus that receives an event of the registered event type from a micro service for publishing. The event message streamer delivers the event in an event message to one or more micro services that subscribes to the event type for consuming.

A method for generating a searchable file from a document. The method includes identifying an object within the document and a formatting attribute of the object, determining an inferred semantic characteristic of the object by comparing the formatting attribute with a plurality of inference rules, wherein the inferred semantic characteristic comprises an estimation of author-defined semantic characteristic of the object, generating metadata based at least on the inferred semantic characteristic and the formatting attribute of the object, wherein the metadata comprises text data that is searchable by a search application for the searchable file to identify the object within the searchable file, and generating, based on the document, the searchable file comprising the metadata.

In response to the request to load the data story, a scripting engine associated with the application may execute a first programming code associated with the software widget. The first programming code may be executed to retrieve, from the cloud-based analytics engine, visualization data for rendering the data presentation. An in-app web browser associated with the application may execute a second programming code associated with the software widget. The second programming code may be executed to render, based on the visualization data retrieved from the cloud-based analytics engine, the data presentation.
