A fastening system for a zipper is disclosed which includes locking or interlocking first and second zipper pull tabs. A first zipper pull tab comprises a first base, a hook extending from the first base, and a movable gate coupled to the first base. A second zipper pull tab comprises a second base, a cover coupled to the second base, and a post extending between the second base and the cover. For interlocking, the movable gate and hook are further coupled around the post to provide the interlocking configuration of the first and second zipper pull tabs. The first zipper pull tab may be utilized separately from the second zipper pull tab, such as to lock to a coupling ring or another component of a carrying bag.

A protective enclosure for a zipper of an article. The zipper enclosure may include an enclosure base that is attachable to the article, such as a mattress cover or padding materials for use with a bedding/furniture cover. The enclosure base may be configured to receive a one or more components of the zipper, such as the zipper slider and pull tab, upon closing of the zipper. When the zipper is closed, the enclosure base may be enclosed by an enclosure cover to contain and/or prevent migration of particles and/or organisms, such as bed bugs, allergens, dust mites, small particles and the like, from the article through an opening in the zipper chain adjacent the slider head. The enclosure may include one or more barriers for preventing migration of small particles and/or organisms past obstructions formed by the barriers.

There is provided a slider assembly for a slide fastener, including: a slider body; a pull-tab; and a resilient locking member. The pull-tab is provided with a window aligned with an aperture in an upper wing of the slider body when the pull-tab is in a first angular end position. A distal end of the locking member extends towards a guide channel through the window and the aperture. The locking member is configured to be resiliently biased towards a locking position where a distal end thereof protrudes in the guide channel. A proximal end of the pull-tab has a cam cooperating with the locking member such that the locking member takes the locking position when the pull-tab is in the first angular end position, and the locking member is moved towards an unlocking position when the pull-tab is pivoted away from the first angular end position.

A locking slider assembly includes a rail having a travel direction and a cross-sectional dimension, the rail switchable between a first state in which the cross-sectional dimension has a first value and a second state in which the cross-sectional dimension has a second value, the second value greater than the first value and a slider having a slot that fits over the rail, the slot having a first surface and a second surface, the first surface and second surface separated by a distance aligned with the cross-sectional dimension that is greater than the first value of the cross-sectional dimension and less than or equal to the second value of the cross-sectional dimension, so that the slot can slide over the rail when the rail is in the first state, and the slot cannot slide over the rail when the rail is in the second state.

A locking zipper pull is described wherein the zipper pull is locked when the pull's lever(s) are locked in a first position and can be unlocked by moving the lever(s) into a second position to allow the zipper pull to be slid along an associated zipper chain.

The present invention is referred to as a theft prevention strap operable to secure one or more zipper sliders. In embodiments, the strap may include at least two strap ends and a tag end, wherein each strap end includes an opening. A first strap end may be passed underneath a handle of a piece of luggage, a second strap end may be passed over the top of the handle, and a padlock shackle may be passed through both openings and one or more openings associated with one or more zipper sliders. Thereby, the strap may be held in place by the handle, and the zipper sliders may be held in place along a corresponding zipper track such that the zipper sliders cannot be moved along the zipper track to cover up an attempted theft.

The present invention is referred to as a theft prevention strap operable to secure one or more zipper sliders. In embodiments, the strap may include at least two strap ends and a tag end, wherein each strap end includes an opening. A first strap end may be passed underneath a handle of a piece of luggage, a second strap end may be passed over the top of the handle, and a padlock shackle may be passed through both openings and one or more openings associated with one or more zipper sliders. There is provided a slide fastener slider. A front mounting portion and a rear mounting portion are respectively provided with receiving grooves for receiving a lock member. The receiving grooves have right and left side walls. Protrusions are respectively provided on upper end edges of the side walls of the front mounting portion. When the upper end portions of the side walls of the front mounting portion are inclined in a direction of approaching each other, the protrusions approach each other, and the protrusions cover the lock member more largely relative to portions of the side walls other than the protrusions.

There is provided a slide fastener slider. A front mounting portion and a rear mounting portion are respectively provided with receiving grooves for receiving a lock member. The receiving grooves have right and left side walls. Protrusions are respectively provided on upper end edges of the side walls of the front mounting portion. When the upper end portions of the side walls of the front mounting portion are inclined in a direction of approaching each other, the protrusions approach each other, and the protrusions cover the lock member more largely relative to portions of the side walls other than the protrusions.
